Jeff Lewis’ ex Gage Edward slams Still Flipping Out as “embarrassing,” as he questioned if Jeff has “paid friends.” Gage also clarified his recent shady post, saying he “struck a nerve.”
After the series premiere of Still Flipping Out – a spinoff of Flipping Out – Jeff’s ex (who starred on the original from season 5 through 11) posted an Instagram video about how he “decided not to return” to film the spinoff, though he later shared that Bravo “never called” him. Later, he claimed that his video had better ratings than the spinoff itself. Afterward, Jeff fired back on his SiriusXM radio show, calling Gage out for “root[ing] for my failure.”
“I watch[ed] Still Flipping Out, and I’m just in shock. What the fuck is this show?” wrote Gage in a recent post on Substack. “I know this is bad and I know that people are like … you’re obsessed, why do you care, move on. … I feel embarrassed and insulted as someone that was tied to the original series. That has nothing to do with my co-parenting, jealousy, or wanting to be on the show.”
“It has to do with a new group of people, flailing in the wind, using the name of a television series to advance some contrived infomercial promoting a radio series, and it makes a mockery of what so many people put into creating the art that was the original series,” he added.
According to Gage, his shady Instagram post was “satire” and a “joke,” but it “sure did strike a nerve.”
“I was frustrated, and to be honest, I didn’t realize the extent of the frustration or the why until I sat to write this,” he said. “Not only is this [reboot] nothing like the original series, the people on it are embarrassing to me. People that, in my decade-long relationship with my former partner, we would have never been around or had working in our office. People desperate to be on television, desperate to be talked about on a radio show, desperate for attention, desperate for fame. It’s kiss the ring so you can be famous too.”
Later on, Gage questioned if Jeff has “paid friends.”
“I watched as a dad, and I was saddened that this is the environment that’s around our daughter,” he continued. “She realizes already why they’re all there. She knows they want something from her dad and I don’t think for a second they are there because they love and care about him. … I felt that the show was proof of the echo-chamber, a showcase of what having yes-people around can do.”
Gage titled the article, “Nothing Beats an Original.”
