Angie Katsanevas “never” thought that her marriage to Shawn Trujillo would come to an end.

Months after separating from Shawn, 55, following 27 years of marriage and one child, 15-year-old daughter Elektra, the 52-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star confirmed that she “absolutely” did not see their breakup coming.

“Never in a million years,” Angie told E! News. “It’s a hard thing to go through when you’re questioning your future and what that looks like for you as a couple.”

Because Angie is a Greek Orthodox Christian, it is thought that couples who wed will be “together forever,” and, as Angie noted, that “was [her] goal, obviously, in marrying Shawn.”

After “facing challenges” away from the cameras, Angie said she did her best to be “honest and real” while filming the seventh season of RHOSLC.

“I’m always honest about what I’m going through, what I’m dealing with at home. You’re not only facing these challenges at home, but you have to share them with the world. So I just do my best to be vulnerable, honest and real,” she shared.

And she wasn’t alone. As fans have surely heard, Whitney Rose, 39, and Justin Rose, 58, have also separated, and Bronwyn Newport, 41, and Todd Bradley, 66, are nearly divorced.

When asked about Bronwyn’s former flame, model Brandon Good, 32, Angie said he was “nice,” and that it “looks like she’s having fun” before shading Bronwyn’s claim that he was “six boyfriends ago,” which she made on last week’s Watch What Happens Live.

“She’s busy,” Angie responded. “She’s not even divorced yet, and she’s already tried out six new models, and of all ages, and good for her. I’m a little old school, so I usually would probably personally wait until it was official. But good for her, good for her.”

Also speaking to E! News, Angie admitted that Mary Cosby, 53, was “carrying” the cast after the death of her son, Robert Cosby Jr.

“I think Mary has not only taught the women, but now sharing with the rest of the world that she’s very strong,” Angie explained. “She is inspiring in the way that she looks at faith and what a homegoing looks like and that we return home and it’s to somewhere better and more beautiful. And in a way, she was carrying us.”

Following the news that Robert Jr. had died at just 23-years-old, Angie said the cast was overcome with grief.

“We all wept for her as mothers, and her strength was part of what helped us get through this and the fact that she could lean on us,” she recalled. “And, you know, we let her, and she accepted our love and our support. And Mary was just a true inspiration.”

According to Angie, Mary showed the cast how to lean on their faith.

“She is obviously a leader of her church and a mother and a wife,” she explained. “She was comforting others, she was sharing words of wisdom to help others get through this difficult time and [reminding] people, you know, that we go home. In the Orthodox faith, when someone passes, it’s dealt with so differently and with so much grief and sadness. And I learned that there was a more beautiful way of looking at this time to transition to a better place and to go home to God. She gave us comfort in her strength.”

Mary has also comforted fans.

“I read something today on the Internet that said, ‘Thank you to this show and to Bravo, because I’ve been through something like this.’ And they said, ‘Now I don’t feel alone,’” Angie revealed. “Her and Robert and their story is reaching so many people, and it’s pretty special.”

“She’s an amazing, strong woman. I can’t say it enough,” she added.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season seven airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
