Lala Kent addressed her tension with Scheana Shay during an interview on Friday.

Weeks into their public back-and-forth, the 35-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum explained what upset her most about her drama with Scheana, reacted to rumors of taking her place on The Valley, and shared her thoughts on the new Pump Rules cast while also revealing how she keeps her dad Kent Burningham‘s memory alive at home with her two daughters, Ocean, 4, and Sosa, 1.

“I don’t know exactly what [Scheana’s] spoken about out there. [But] my truest hope, because we’ve hit a few bumps in the road and I was like, okay, I just hope that we can keep this between the two of us and we can hash it out when we’re more in alignment, because we’re not right now,” Lala explained during a September 26 interview with Entertainment Tonight.

According to Lala, she and Scheana are “deeply connected” to one another, not just due to their Pump Rules past, but because their daughters, including Scheana’s child, Summer Moon, are best friends.

“But I wish that she would not have brought it to a public place because we’re not filming a show. There was no reason for it to be out there like that and then I’m put in a position where I feel like I have to go out and defend myself and I wasn’t wanting that,” Lala shared.

While Lala confirmed that the two of them would “be fine,” she said they’re both hurt as she expressed a desire to keep their issues private.

“We’re deeper rooted than that. I share a wall with this woman in Palm Springs. We better pull it together because someone’s gonna be selling their house and it ain’t gonna be me,” she added.

Moving on to recent rumors about The Valley, and the idea that she may have replaced Scheana on the show, Lala seemed to deny the claim.

“I try to tell her this, and I don’t know if she believes it yet. Maybe she’ll believe it now that she’s a NY Times Bestseller. She deserved that win. She’s iconic. You think about Bravo, and she’s one of the top people you think about,” she noted.

As for the new cast of Pump Rules, Lala said that although the group has “very large shoes to fill,” she’s “so excited for them.”

“I’ve heard it’s very good … and I think it would be one thing if the old cast had more life in them and we were all kind of let go … we were let go because everyone knew we didn’t want to do it anymore,” she confirmed.

Then, after it was mentioned that Scheana has wanted to do more seasons, Lala added, “I don’t think we could’ve. It was time to pass the torch to some young, hot crazy people.”

Also on the show, Lala began crying as she was asked what her dad, who died in April 2018, would think of her life now.

“I think he’d be very, very proud, and I think him knowing that we’re all together and keeping each other happy and safe, he did that, the loss of my dad really shook our family to our core and I think we all realize that time is so precious and I don’t want to spend moments away from my family,” she stated.

“I feel him all the time, and it’s weird because I still have such vivid memories of everything, every wrinkle on his face, the way his hands look, I remember the way his hugs feel, and I pray that he will never leave,” she added.
