Sutton Stracke offered an update on her estrangement from Garcelle Beauvais after opening up about the sudden end of their friendship on the premiere episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 15.
After admitting she had “no idea” why Garcelle, 59, ghosted her after exiting the series after its season 14 reunion, Sutton, 54, spoke of her bond with Erika Jayne, 54, addressed Erika’s drama with Dorit Kemsley, 49, and insisted she offered Garcelle “many apologies” amid their falling out.
“It’s a lot of questions about Garcelle from cast members, and press, and my friends, and the world … I have been a little taken aback by it,” Sutton said in a December interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “I’ve told her a lot in text messages, including many apologies. I just said, you know, ‘I’m just not sure for what, but help me understand what I’ve done in this friendship.’ So it’s a shame that we didn’t get to have a one-on-one conversation.”
During an October appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Garcelle revealed why she cut ties with Sutton after season 14.
“Not only did she not have my back, she also, when she called me, never took accountability for it,” Garcelle told Andy Cohen, 57. “That hurt my feelings a lot… We were really close. My kids would call her, you know? We were really close.”
Ahead of season 15, Sutton said that it was challenging to go into filming without Garcelle at her side.
“It took me a lot to get ready for this season, to feel confident and going in without Garcelle,” she explained to The Daily Dish, “but, also, in kind of wanting to kind of come in with a clean slate, which really meant for me having a clean heart and mind so that I could kind of take things in differently this season.”
During another interview, Sutton looked back on a bonding moment she had with Erika amid season 15.
“Erika and I bonded on a spa day my second season, so I guess we just needed to revisit the spa,” she suspected on the December 11 episode of Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea.
Sutton also spoke of Erika’s tension with Dorit.
“I think we all just — we’re all in this together. Erika and Dorit, they’ve been friends for so long so we don’t want to see them not be friends,” she stated.
