Jax Taylor is under fire after taking his son, Cruz, to Hooters for his fifth birthday.
After sharing a couple of photos of their birthday festivities on Sunday, the 46-year-old Valley alum, who shares Cruz with estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, 37, was slammed as “so weird” and “so inappropriate” for taking the child to the venue.
“Best day with my best bud,” Jax captioned his first post on April 12, which featured him sitting next to Cruz, who was diagnosed with autism in April 2025, at an aquarium.
Then, along with a pic of the two of them sipping out of their straws at Hooters, Jax wrote, “My 5 year old.”
Following the sharing of the posts, a fan questioned Jax’s restaurant of choice on Reddit.
“I get that Brittany has connections there so maybe it’s like a family thing…. But as a mom, this is weird right?” they asked, giving a nod to Brittany’s past as a waitress at Hooters, where servers dress in tight tank tops and orange booty shorts.
In response, someone else suspected that Hooters was simply Jax’s restaurant of choice.
“Jax loves Hooters…possibly he’s making this about him and his preferences,” they wrote.
“Jax? Being a narcissist and ignoring others people’s wishes, well-being and feelings? Oh my word! I can’t imagine him doing anything like that!!!” said another.
Someone else wrote, “I can’t with him… Do I cringe? Do I laugh? Do I feel sad for Cruz?”
Meanwhile, others felt there was nothing wrong with Jax going to Hooters to celebrate Cruz’s birthday, noting that there were far worse options.
“Technically, they wear more clothes than a female Sur server, I guess,” someone stated.
“Taking his son to Hooters is not the issue – it’s how Jax treats and sexualizes women that people should worry about,” added another.
“The kid is five. I don’t think he cares about anything other than…I’m going to lunch with my dad. I’m sure he enjoyed it … Jax is undoubtedly a monster but come on, guys. This is hardly worthy of a witch hunt. It’s freaking wings and french fries,” shared another Reddit user.
As fans of The Valley may have heard, Jax and Brittany finalized their custody agreement in March, which gave the former couple joint legal and physical custody and allowed Jax time with Cruz every other weekend and on Wednesday nights.
