Why did Chrishell Stause and G Flip split?
Days after the 45-year-old Selling Sunset alum and 33-year-old nonbinary musician from Australia confirmed that their romance had ended after more than four years, reportedly after G prompted the breakup, an insider is speaking out about what led to the decision and sharing whether they could reunite in the future.
“The distance is what really drove the two of them apart,” the source told PEOPLE on October 28. “The long flights, going weeks without seeing each other, and time difference took its toll. They were trying to make the ‘marriage,’ that was never legal, work. They both wanted to have kids, but they also both didn’t want to uproot their lives for the other.”
According to the insider, Chrishell and G never legally wed. And, when it comes to their future, the status of their relationship isn’t crystal clear.
“Chrishell and G Flip still very much love each other and haven’t ruled anything out, as far as reuniting romantically, in the future. It was hard to dream about a life together, when they both had that dream on different continents,” the source added.
Meanwhile, as noted in an October 27 report from TMZ, the cast was not surprised that G Flip called it quits with Chrishell, as Chrishell has a “mean side” and has had falling outs with nearly everyone on the show. The report also said that when it came to G Flip, everyone loved them and found them to be kind and genuine.
Following Monday’s news of Chrishell and G’s breakup, Chrishell’s ex, Jason Oppenheim, 49, offered support to Chrishell in a comment, and Bre Tiesi, 35, spoke to TMZ.
After admitting that she and Chrishell “don’t get along very well,” Bre said she was “so sorry” to hear about the breakup — and then started to laugh.
“Listen, she had a lot to say about my relationship. So, I’m going to let her do the talking on other people’s relationships. I have nothing to say. Wish them the best,” Bre continued, seemingly giving a nod to her romance with baby daddy Nick Cannon, 46, who has 12 children.
Bre also suspected that Chrishell would “come back to our team” and return to dating men before admitting she hoped Chrishell wouldn’t “go back to Jason.”
Also during the interview, Bre said she thought Jason’s support for Chrishell was “genuine.”
“I think Jason does care about Chrishell. He cares about most women in the office. He’s dated like all of them, except me,” she noted.
