Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, along with the majority of viewers, was shocked on Tuesday night as her co-star, Erika Girardi, unleashed a verbal attack on her on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
As fans saw, Erika Jayne began swinging her finger at Teddi and told her not to ever “f**k” with her after Teddi suggested she had ‘pretend amnesia’ about a comment she made in regard to certain statements made by Dorit Kemsley about Lisa Vanderpump.
By the end of the episode, the newest cast member of the RHOBH left their dinner party in tears.
Erika has since been on the receiving end of major backlash from fans of the show, and now Teddi is opening up about Erika’s decision to lash out at her.
“As you saw, she was triggered and unleashed on me. Look, I wasn’t raised to speak to people that way and so I was kinda shocked by her unnecessary anger. Even if I don’t like someone, I will treat them with respect and can be cordial,” Teddi wrote in her Bravo blog this week.
“I just feel like she’s just been waiting for the moment since we first met. She snapped at me in Vegas, she snapped at me at the beach house, she even corrected me when I called her a singer— something we’ve seen others call her to no effect,” Teddi continued. “It’s not in my nature to attack back on someone unhinged over the littlest thing, and so I disengage. But as you see me say to LVP— if she doesn’t remember, why is she so upset?”
Teddi pointed out that while Erika told Dorit that she wasn’t concerned with gaining Lisa’s affection, she admitted she would have been upset about Dorit’s comment.
“Why not just tell Dorit that rather than mock their relationship?” she asked. “It seems like Erika is enjoying the rift between LVP and Dorit more than she lets on. Or she’s just not sure of how to function in a legitimate friendship that isn’t somebody telling her how amazing she is on a loop.”
At the end of Monday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Erika was seen lashing out further at Teddi by poking fun at her tears. She even labeled her as a “crybaby.”
“Sure, I’m a woman with emotions, and I cried. It’s allowed. It’s natural,” Teddi responded. “What’s not natural is for you to stop another woman from trying to comfort somebody who’s obviously upset. But all bow to Regina Jayne.” (A reference to Regina George from the Mean Girls movie). #WellPlayedTeddi
“I won’t be sitting at that table. I prefer genuine people and feelings over ice and diamonds,” she added.
Teddi also made sure to thank Lisa for comforting her following the dinner smack down. “Speaking of friendship, I’d just like to say how I appreciate Lisa Vanderpump during this little saga, standing up for me and being a friend,” she wrote.
