Southern Charm s Thomas Ravenel Accused of Sexual Assault

Thomas Ravenel just broke his silence as new shocking details are being revealed in regard to the sexual assaut allegations he’s facing.

On May 3, the Southern Charm star and former politician released a statement, via attorney Richard P. Terbrusch, fighting back against the claims made by realtor Ashley Perkins and suggesting he’s been targeted due to his notoriety.

“My client enjoys a certain degree of fame and unfortunately has become – unfairly – a target for an individual who has, in my opinion, dubious motivations,” Richard told People in the statement.

According to the report, Ashley claimed her mother met Thomas on Tinder in October 2015 and went on a date with him that Christmas. Although Ashley didn’t witness the alleged assault herself, she said on her website that her mother “acted very withdrawn” after her date with Thomas and later revealed he had allegedly “stuck his penis in [her] face” and put his fingers inside her vagina and anus.

“Her wrists were starting to look bad the next morning. I said, ‘We need to see who we’re dealing with.’ She didn’t want to do anything. She was scared to go to court. I said right now you don’t want to do anything, let me take a picture of your wrist. Let’s get some evidence in case you want to do something,” Ashley recalled.

Several months later, Ashley’s mother attended mediation with her daughter in regard to the alleged incident with the father of two. During the hearing, she reportedly agreed to sign a non-disclosure agreement and was given a settlement of $200,000.

While Thomas may believe Ashley has “dubious motivations,” she has insisted her motivations are “pure,” and is now calling for Bravo to fire Thomas.

“My words are the truth and the truth will prevail,” Ashley said in her own statement to People. “I want to see Thomas Ravenel removed from Bravo and not just because of what he allegedly did to my mother but because of the negative comments he posts on a regular basis. Also, the way Thomas treats women on the show Southern Charm is totally disrespectful to women everywhere and promotes an antiquated attitude of the ‘good ole boys’ network and ‘boys will be boy,s which is too commonly accepted. I want to see ot only Thomas removed from the show but for Bravo to apologize to the audience for allowing Thomas to remain on the show with his reckless, threatening, and demeaning attitude to women.”

Along with her response to Thomas’ lawyer’s statement, Ashley posted a couple of photos of her mother’s injuries on her Twitter page.

Thomas is dad to two children, Kensie, 4, and son Saint, 2, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Kathryn Dennis and is currently dating Ashley Jacobs.

Southern Charm season five airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
