While fans of the Real Housewives of New York City are still getting over the shocking announcement of Carole Radziwill quitting the show yesterday, more details are now coming out about the real reason she’s leaving the Bravo series following six seasons.
In a statement on Wednesday, Carole revealed she was leaving RHONY to focus on her journalism career. However, two new reports have since come out and they both reveal Bethenny Frankel, who Carole is currently feuding with, is the main reason she’s choosing to walk away.
First, TMZ reported on Wednesday evening that sources close to the RHONY cast are stating Carole felt “blackballed” following her feud with Bethenny.
Carole reportedly felt that Bethenny, who has a dominant personality, was given control of the show, and due to their falling out, she suffered consequences which included reduced camera time.
The other cast members reportedly refer to RHONY as ‘The Bethenny Show’ behind the scenes.
And this morning, In Touch Weekly is also reporting something similar stating Carole felt Bethenny created a “toxic” environment on the show.
“Carole decided not to return to the show because of the toxic, negative, and depressing environment that Bethenny created,” an insider close to the cast revealed.
“Bethenny is toxic, a liar, and a bully. Every year she picks a victim and wants to destroy them. This year it was Carole,” the source continued. “Bethenny wants to discredit everyone for their accomplishments. Most of her cast mates were very successful before the show, but Bethenny is only successful because of the show.”
In a statement released to Bravo on July 25, Carole stated, “After six seasons on Bravo’s RHONY, I have decided to return to what I do best — journalism and producing. I am sure this does not come as a surprise to any of the viewers, all of whom have been supportive, encouraging, and kind. My original curiosity about reality television has waned over the years, and I am focusing on TV and writing projects that better suit my more steady temperament.”
“I have worked with amazing producers, made great friends, and I’m thrilled to leave frenemies behind. I will remember this entire experience with delight, humor, and a veracious accuracy,” she concluded.
Following the announcement, Carole also posted a cryptic quote on her Instagram page that read: “Didn’t change, just learned.”
