Cory Wharton and Taylor Selfridge are back together.
Months after discussing a potential reunion with ex-girlfriend and baby mama Cheyenne Floyd, the Teen Mom OG dad took to his Instagram Stories during a “bae-cation” and confirmed he and the Are You The One? cast member were back on.
“Mexico here we come,” Cory wrote ahead of their trip, along with a photo of himself and Taylor enjoying a couple of mimosas.
In the hours that followed, Cory shared several other images of the two of them in O’Tulum.
Unfortunately, not everyone was happy to hear about the news of Cory’s reconciled relationship with Taylor and many of his fans and followers blasted the two of them, demanding he instead reconcile with Cheyenne.
“I don’t appreciate the hate, that’s not cool,” Cory said in a video response to the backlash, via OK! Magazine. “Let me address something. I just saw everyone’s comments about who I should be with, why I should be with Cheyenne. I get it. But you don’t live my life, you’re not me.”
“Cheyenne’s a great person, a fabulous mother. I will always have some type of love for Cheyenne right, always, but I’m not in love with Cheyenne. I’m sorry to tell you,” he added.
Last month, Cory explained why he and Cheyenne were not giving their romance another shot.
“The biggest thing for me is that I don’t want to mess it up because we have to be stuck with that for the rest of our lives, right?” he said. “My worst fear is to walk into Cheyenne’s house and have that type of energy where her mom looks at me and her mom hates me… I don’t want that type of energy right now. All I want to focus on is Ryder and it’s going smooth with me and Cheyenne.”
“It’s one of those things, it’s like, if it’s not broken… [don’t fix it],” Cory added.
Months prior, during an appearance on The Domenick Nati Show, Cory said when it comes to a future with Cheyenne, the door is “always open.”
“I mean, the door is never closed, right? When you have a kid with somebody that door is always open,” he shared. “Me and Cheyenne are going to have to deal with each other for the rest of our lives whether we like it or not. We have a kid together, so that door is always open.”
Cory and Cheyenne share daughter Ryder, who turns two this April.
A new season of Teen Mom OG will air on MTV sometime later this year.
