Not everyone is excited about Kelly Dodd‘s recent engagement to boyfriend Rick Leventhal.
While attending an event in New York City last night, the Real Housewives of Orange County star alleged that her former husband, Michael Dodd, is not only upset by the news but that he’s actually threatening to expose her. Meanwhile, as she celebrated her happy news on Instagram, Real Housewives of New York City cast member Ramona Singer sparked rumors regarding Kelly’s potential move to New York City.
“It’s very contentious right now. He gets upset,” Kelly told Us Weekly on Thursday, November 14. “He knows who [Rick] is. And he’s very mean about him. He calls him Gonzo. And then he’ll send me pictures of him, he’s just mean. He’s not happy for me.”
“He wants to come after me. He says, ‘I’m going to expose you.’ I’m like, ‘OK, go head, expose me,’” she continued. “It’s already out there! Everything’s out there. There’s nothing you can say or do that I haven’t been exposed about.”
Kelly and Michael finalized their divorce in 2017 after 10 years of marriage. They are currently co-parenting their 13-year-old daughter Jolie, who is said to be “so excited” about her mom’s upcoming wedding.
“She’s like my partner. She’s such a good kid. She knows exactly what she needs to do to get to the next place,” Kelly explained.
Rick proposed to Kelly in New York City on Wednesday on the terrace of his apartment, which overlooks the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building.
“[It was] beautiful, with a fire and a bunch of flowers. And he got on one knee and said, ‘You’re the love of my life,’” Kelly recalled, adding that she was “so surprised” when Rick popped the question.
According to Kelly, she knew Rick was The One as soon as they were introduced to one another by Ramona over the summer. “It was fireworks right off the bat,” she said.
Not surprisingly, Kelly’s matchmaker, Ramona, is hoping to be included in the bridal party of her upcoming wedding while her co-star, Dorinda Medley, hopes to officiate.
While Kelly has not yet publicly confirmed where she and Rick will live once they wed, Ramona seemed to drop a bomb about Kelly “moving to New York” on one of Kelly’s Instagram Stories on Thursday.
“So I’m having lunch with the beautiful Ramona. She wants me to be on the Real Housewives of New York, how about that?” Kelly said.
“Yeah, because you’re moving to New York… join the show,” Ramona replied.
