The Real Housewives of New Jersey couple has been attempting to unload their home for years, as it’s been placed on the market a number of times, but they decided to re-list the estate in July 2020, which has turned out to be a great decision.
In July, when the home was listed for the last time, Melissa expressed just how sentimental the property is to their family.
“It’s back on the market baby! My Re Done home [Joe Gorga and] I built this beauty from the ground up. You Should be so lucky to live in it,” Melissa wrote in July. She also tagged a realtor, Joshua Baris, who is said to be a “luxury real estate expert.”
The gorgeous 9,000-square-foot mansion was listed in 2017 for $3.5 million, but when it was re-listed in July, the price was dropped to $2.9 million. According to Redfin, the home went under contract at the end of November and ultimately sold on December 14 for $2.5 million, which is about $200,000 less than its estimated value.
Shortly after the papers were signed, the RHONJ star took to Instagram to share their exciting news.
“Our family home for the last 12 years is Officially Sold,” Melissa revealed. “We’ve made so many memories in this home. We were blessed to be able to share so many of them with all of you, [Bravo and] the Real Housewives of New Jersey viewers. I love that I can always watch the reruns and remember the good times we had in it[.] I’m excited to start new beginnings with my family. Have to give a shout out to [Joshua Baris] for being the best in the business!! Gets the job done every time.” She concluded by adding a memories forever hashtag.
The extravagant home, located in the Pond section of Montville, NJ, includes six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and one half bathroom. The backyard contains a pool and a gorgeous stone patio with an outdoor kitchen.
The estate also boasts ample space for entertaining — and it has provided entertainment and drama for fans for years too — with a huge basement, recording studio, movie theatre, home gym, billiards room, and wine cellar.
RHONJ fans will certainly miss watching the Gorga family run around the sprawling mansion as viewers have basically witnessed Antonia, 15, Gino, 13, and Joey, 10, grow up in the home since Melissa joined the show way back in 2011. Let’s hope the buyers are equally as fabulous as the Gorga family and are able to make just as many special memories in the home as they did!
