Luann de Lesseps is addressing her status with Garth Wakeford following a salacious rumor that he’s been cheating on the Real Housewives of New York City star.
Luann has confirmed that she’s a single lady once again after rumors about Garth cheating with a much younger woman began to swirl on social media. The countess went public with the personal trainer in November after meeting him on the dating app Hinge in August.
The rumors began when popular celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi posted a tip from an anonymous source claiming that Garth had been seeing a 19-year-old college student behind Luann’s back. The source also alleged that the young woman is a dear friend of Sonja Morgan‘s, which could potentially cause major issues between the ladies in the new season.
However, Luann wants fans to know that if Garth is dating someone else, it’s certainly not cheating because he’s a free man and can see whomever he wishes.
“Garth and I stopped dating before the holidays and I only wish him well,” she told Page Six.
Meanwhile, Garth also confirmed their split, but he went on to claim the reports about his dating life are completely inaccurate.
“Regarding this girl, we have no relationship. She came to my exercise class once,” he explained. “We follow each other on Instagram and that is it.”
This comes after fans were introduced to Garth in the season 13 trailer, which dropped last month. In the teaser, Luann appeared utterly smitten by Garth, which seemingly annoyed her fellow castmates.
She also gushed over her former beau on the Ex-Appeal podcast in November as she referred to him as “too good to be true.”
“We actually met on the dating app [Hinge]…he lives locally in the Hamptons,” she revealed, stating that when she initially saw Garth’s picture on the app, she thought he was “too good to be true” until she met him face-to-face.
“I said, ‘Oh, my God! He’s exactly what he looks like on the app.’ He’s tall, he’s handsome, he looks like a Viking,” she said of Garth at the time.
It’s unclear why the former couple called it quits, but hopefully, fans will get the answer once the new season begins to play out.
The Real Housewives of New York City season 13 is set to premiere May 4 on Bravo at 9/8c.
