Bethenny Frankel admits she misses a certain aspect about Real Housewives of New York City after initially shading the show following her 2019 exit.
Bethenny was a major part of RHONY throughout her eight seasons on the show, and fans loved to hear her quick-witted, snarky commentary. Though the OG left the series following season three, she wasn’t able to stay away for too long as she returned in season seven despite the massive success of her Skinnygirl brand. However, she once again decided to walk away from the Bravo show after season 11 and subsequently mocked the show following her second stint.
Nevertheless, in a recent interview, Bethenny revealed what she truly misses about filming the beloved series.
“There’s a lot of laughing on the Housewives. There’s a lot of satire, and it was fun to react off people,” she told Variety on June 8. “The comedy is funny. The craziness is funny.”
Though the mother-of-one misses the belly laughs, she went on to explain that she doesn’t miss the stressful aspects of the show.
“It’s a zero-sum game,” she claimed. “Someone’s always winning and someone’s always losing — and there’s always a gotcha moment.”
If fans recall, once season 12 premiered, the business mogul was unhappy with the way her exit was addressed, and she seemingly dissed the show, claiming it no longer inspires people.
“The ratings overall in television have never been higher and perhaps the ratings on Real Housewives aren’t doing well because it’s sort of not maybe the content that is inspiring people to do what they need to do right now,” she told Extra in 2020. “Or maybe they want to watch the news or something uplifting or some way to pay it forward.”
Though Bethenny says she no longer watches the show, it seems the star took note of what fans had to say about her previous comments as she made sure not to bash the series that helped launch her incredible career this time around.
“I don’t watch the shows,” she said. “And I know that will be taken as I think I’m better than, I don’t love where I came from.”
She added, “I do love where I came from.”
