Monique Samuels is mourning the loss of her iconic pet bird, T’Challa.

Bravo fans have been introduced to some iconic pets over the years, but T’Challa was arguably the most entertaining as he provided much-needed comic relief during season five of Real Housewives of Potomac. Unfortunately, on July 6, Monique took to Instagram to deliver the sad news about the African grey parrot.

“On July 1st around 5pm my entire world was rocked,” she began the post, which included a photo and video of her with the bird. “My [T’Challa] was killed in a freak accident.”

The “Drag Queens” rapper went on to explain that she’s still in shock, calling the pain of the sudden loss “indescribable” for her family.

“The pain is intense and I’m just completely baffled, overwhelmed and cannot stop the emotional rollercoaster I am on right now,” she wrote. “My children keep breaking down which makes the pain even worse.”

If fans recall, T’Challa went missing for a short period of time last year, which Monique believes was God’s way of preparing her. She then went on to recount how she leaned on T’Challa following her dramatic exit from RHOP.

“T’Challa was put in our life 2 years ago and I thought he would out live me! He was on my shoulder as I endured some of the toughest moments of my life,” she shared. “As I closed that chapter, I had no idea his page would end there too.”

She added, “My house is too quiet. My shoulder is too light. My mornings preparing coffee while he sits on my shoulder will forever be altered. I don’t know why you had to leave us forever but I’m so grateful for being blessed to experience such an amazing creature.”

Of course, fans immediately began to offer their condolences as they weighed in on the heartbreaking news.

“He brought smiles and laughs to literally millions of faces and for that he will always be celebrated and loved,” one fan wrote. “Sending you the biggest hugs [Monique Samuels] I’m so so sorry.”

Another person commented, “He taught me to fly above the drama and sh*t on all my haters.”

Andy Cohen also commented, writing, “I am so sorry,” along with a heart emoji.

Prior to the season five reunion, Andy shared how excited he was to finally meet the bird, but T’Challa apparently wasn’t as excited to meet the Watch What Happens Live host.

“I met T’Challa, who wants nothing to do with me,” Andy shared via Instagram at the time.
