Married at First Sight season 14 is here, and below is what we know so far…
MAFS season 14 will be filmed in Boston, Mass, and it will feature local singles from the area.
While this is a whole new batch of married hopefuls, this is not the first time the show has been to Boston. Married at First Sight season six was also set in Boston and was one of the more successful seasons of the series. In fact, one of the spouses from the current season has ties with a season six alum who actually talked him into signing up for the show.
Olajuwan, 29, who has been paired with 29-year-old Katina, is a college buddy of MAFS season six’s Jephte Pierre. Jephte met and married his current wife, Shawniece Jackson, on the show. The two are still together and going strong. They even have a daughter, with hopes of more children to come. Due to Shawniece and Jephte’s success story, Jephte was able to convince Olajuwan to sign up, and the MAFS experts were able to find him his perfect match!
Olajuwan has been matched with Katina, a 29-year-old who just got out of a two-year-long relationship… with herself! Katina has been on a self-exploration journey for the past two years and feels that she is finally ready for a relationship with the love of her life. Let’s hope Olajuwan is it!
So, what else do we know about this new crop of marriage hopefuls?
Well, we know that there are five couples paired and that all couples have gone through psychological evaluations and background checks. However, those are not always conclusive as we all remember MAFS season seven’s Mia Bally. Mia was arrested at the airport as she and her new hubby Tristan Thompson tried to board the plane for their Cancun honeymoon. Mia was arrested for stalking her ex-boyfriend, allegations which she initially claimed were just a case of mistaken identity but later admitted were actually true. Let’s hope these new couples all pass their background checks with flying colors and no surprises!
All of the newly married spouses are over the age of 25 and the season should premiere in January 2022. The new couples are named Alyssa and Chris, Jasmina and Michael, Katina and Olajuwon, Lindsey and Mark, and Noi and Steve, and all the juicy info we have on these couples can be found here.
Other than that, we know all five couples have been successfully and legally married and are ready to begin their happily ever afters, or so they hope.
And so do we! After the last two seasons’ lackluster success rate, we need a win! Season 12 has one lone couple still together, and although season 13 initially had two who said yes on Decision Day, with season 13’s Jose San Miguel and Rachel Gordillo’s recent divorce announcement, season 13 has no couples left standing.
Let’s hope that season 14 will bring the results and the forever couples we are all hoping for!
