Evolution Media, the production company behind Bravo’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has submitted not only footage of Erika Jayne but also documents pertaining to the television personality amid her $2 million lawsuit with Edelson PC, the class action law firm representing the widows and orphans she and her estranged husband, Thomas Girardi, are accused of ripping off.
After Edelson filed a series of federal civil subpoenas against Evolution Media and NBCUniversal, the parent company of Bravo, in hopes of gathering more information about Erika and her assets, the law firm has confirmed the reception of materials from only the production company.
In a status report filed by Edelson and obtained by Radar Online, Edelson noted that Evolution Media has handed over the requested documents amid their $2 million case against Erika, which accuses her and Thomas of embezzling settlement funds from the widows and orphans of victims of the 2018 Lion Air plane crash in Indonesia and using those funds to support their over-the-top lifestyle.
As for NBC, they were served with a subpoena in October 2021 but have reportedly yet to fully turn over the requested footage and documents.
While Erika has been dodging Thomas-related lawsuits for over a year now, she hasn’t been having much luck. In addition to being put on the hook for the $11 million Thomas owes to a burn victim and being forced to turn in a pair of $750,000 earrings purchased for her by Thomas years ago, Erika has been hit with a $25 million lawsuit, which accuses her of receiving fraudulent transfers from Thomas and his now-defunct law firm, Girardi Keese.
Although Erika has maintained her innocence throughout the allegations, claiming she knew nothing about her now-estranged husband’s alleged crimes against his former clients, a judge recently signed off on Edelson pursuing Erika for the settlement money owed to the victims in his $2 million embezzlement case.
During an interview with E! News’ The Daily Pop last month, Erika opened up about her legal drama, saying that this season of her life has been her “darkest.”
“This has been the darkest part of my life,” Erika said in February. “Just the most desperate, most afraid I’ve ever been in my life. Most unsure, most volatile. I’ve been angry, I’ve been sad, I’ve been happy, I’ve been everything. And it’s really challenged me to my core.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is expected to return to Bravo later this year for season 12.
