The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast began filming their upcoming 12th season earlier this month. And according to a new report, the season 12 cast will look a lot like that of season 11.
As production on the new episodes gets underway, Erika Jayne is reportedly looking forward to a “lighter” storyline as she reunites with her co-stars, including season 11’s funny “friend” Kathy Hilton, and begins to dabble in the dating pond after splitting from Thomas Girardi in November 2020.
“The ladies began filming last Tuesday,” a source told Hollywood Life on October 27. “They are picking up right where they left off with the Erika storyline but she also will be trying to have a lighter and fun season as much as she possibly can.”
According to the report, all of the ladies of RHOBH are returning. And when it comes to Kathy, she’s expected to remain in her “friend” position alongside the other members of the show, including Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Dorit Kemsley, Garcelle Beauvais, Sutton Stracke, and Crystal Kung-Minkoff.
“Producers didn’t want to miss anything with Erika. All of the ladies are returning including Kathy as a friend,” the source continued. “She really enjoyed her experience more than she thought she would and she will never be full-time. She’s really glad she did the show. As of now, nobody new has been introduced to the group and it’s looking like it’ll be the same cast.”
Another insider went on to reveal that while Erika is dating after divorce, she isn’t entirely “focused on dating” and won’t be exposing her love life to the cameras amid season 12.
“She’s trying the dating pool because she’s really ready to move on with her life. She’s excited to fall in love again,” the second source told Hollywood Life. “She wants to keep that very private, but she’s feeling excited about this and happy in her life right now.”
As for why Erika decided to keep her dating endeavors off of RHOBH, the insider said she didn’t “see the point” because she doesn’t have a “specific suitor” at this time.
“She’ll re-evaluate if it gets to that point, but producers are not pushing her to film her dates either,” the source added.
Erika filed for divorce at the end of last year after over two decades of marriage as a slew of lawsuits were filed against her and Thomas, one of which accused the couple of being in cahoots to steal millions of settlement funds from his former clients.
In more RHOBH news, Erika and co-star Garcelle were recently photographed together filming the new season of the show. There’s no word yet on when the season will air.
