Pump Rules' Katie Maloney Reveals She's "Been on a Date" and Likes "Flirting" Post-Split, Offers Update on Relationship With Tom and Sharing Custody of Dogs

Katie Maloney is dating after splitting from estranged husband Tom Schwartz earlier this year.

While appearing on Bachelor alums Becca Kufrin and Michelle Young‘s podcast on Tuesday, the Vanderpump Rules star confirmed she’s “been on a date” and enjoys “flirting” as she also offered an update on where she stands with Tom amid their divorce and explained their custody arrangement for dogs Butter and Gordo VonFriendenheimer.

“[I’ve] been on a date,” Katie shared on the May 24 episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, via Page Six, noting that while she’s “not trying to get a boyfriend,” she “like going out [and] flirting.”

According to Katie, she’s not using apps to date because she prefers to meet people in her day-to-day life.

As Pump Rules fans may know, Katie and Tom separated two days before Valentine’s Day and confirmed the end of their marriage in the following months with emotional statements on their Instagram pages.

“I never thought I would have to make an announcement like this. But I feel it’s important that I’m open about my life with you,” Katie wrote in her March 15 post. “After 12 years on an adventure through life together Tom and I are ending our marriage. This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose. We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and we cherish our friendship. Although we may be on different paths we will continue to love and support one another’s happiness. Thank you all for the kind words and support.”

In Tom’s statement, he admitted that although his heart was aching, he’d “be ok.”

“[I’m] not looking to evoke any sympathy here. I’m not the victim. Not gonna write too sad a song. Fully respect Katie’s decision and we’ve had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me whilst not happy,” he explained.

During another podcast appearance, on Dear Media’s Relationsh-t podcast, Katie said that despite her split from Tom, the two of them have stayed close and are currently splitting custody of their pets.

“We still do things together,” Katie said, via E! News. “We have some of the same group of friends, and we have dogs that we’re gonna split custody of… He’s family to me, and I’m always going to love him, so our friendship is very important to both of us.”

Vanderpump Rules was recently renewed for a 10th season by Bravo.
