Despite leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on a bitter note, Lisa Vanderpump still has ties to her previous friend group in the fateful friendship she has formed with current RHOBH star Garcelle Beauvais.
Speaking with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Garcelle revealed the two met at an event Lisa was throwing for Haiti back in October of last year.
“She was actually putting on an event for Haiti at TomTom, so I got to meet her,” Garcelle, who is native to Haiti, said. “There was Haitian music blaring. There were more Haitians than I knew there were in California that night there. So, I just fell in love with what she was doing.”
Garcelle explained the two hit it off almost immediately and got to chatting. When Garcelle revealed that her eldest son, Oliver Saunders, lived in Las Vegas, Lisa offered Oliver a job at her new restaurant in Vegas, and the rest is history.
The two even attended the restaurant, Vanderpump a’ Paris’, grand opening together earlier this year.
Garcelle explained that the two have remained friends ever since, but their connection has nothing to do with the RHOBH.
“We don’t even talk about Housewives,” Garcelle said. “She’s not on the show. What’s there to talk about?”
Fans will remember that Lisa’s exit from the franchise was all due to the “Puppy Gate” scandal involving Dorit Kemsley giving up her puppy, Lucy Lucy Apple Juice (who she obtained from Lisa’s rescue organization), after the puppy allegedly bit her family. This led to Lisa leaving the show on bad terms with pretty much everyone on the show — especially her former best friend, Kyle Richards. Kyle said she could neither confirm nor deny that Lisa had leaked the “Puppy Gate” story to the tabloids. (The iconic and viral, “Good-bye Kyle!” Anyone?)
In the past, Lisa has said she’d only be willing to return to the show if production “cleaned house” regarding the cast.
So, how has the current cast reacted to Lisa and Garcelle’s friendship?
Garcelle teased viewers will get to see some of those reactions during this season of RHOBH.
“They have their opinions,” she coyly said.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on Bravo.
