Melissa Gorga shares how she was approached to join the Real Housewives of New Jersey after doubt was thrown on her controversial season three entrance.

According to sister-in-law Teresa Giudice, with whom she’s now feuding, Melissa kept everything hush-hush, undergoing the casting process behind her back.

It’s also rumored that Melissa asked to be on the show, and the network agreed because she was related to Teresa. Recently, former RHONJ producer Carlos King publicly confirmed Teresa’s version of events, claiming Melissa indeed blindsided her despite Melissa’s insistence on the contrary.

Now, when Melissa was asked if she applied to be on the show, the 43-year-old denied it.

“No. So for me personally, they DM’d me on Facebook,” claimed Melissa in a recent interview, shared by @allabouttrh on Instagram. The Bravo account also showed footage of producer Andy Cohen making the claim in a Watch What Happens Live episode that castmates don’t get “drafted” — it’s simply the co-stars’ choice (which seems to contradict Melissa’s version).

Melissa went on to explain the casting agents’ “MO.”

“Yes, they did. The casting agents DM’d me on Facebook, which is not uncommon by the way,” she said. “I know a lot of ladies who got cast have been DM’d through social media, so that’s their MO. That’s kind of how they find out.”

What do the agents say?

“They say, like, ‘Hey, I’m a casting agent on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Would you like — can we talk to you?’ And it just kind of goes from there,'” she revealed.

Despite Melissa’s words, many fans still believe she’s lying, especially in light of Carlos King’s revelation.
