Raquel Leviss is reacting to the news of James Kennedy and Lala Kent‘s latest hookup.
After Lala and James confirmed to castmate Katie Maloney that they cheated on former partners Randall Emmett and Raquel early in their respective relationships on the Vanderpump Rules season 10 premiere, Raquel confirmed she had been kept in the dark about the hookup.
“I was given information that was new to me … [Lala] did say that she hooked up with James and it was during the time that James and I were together,” Raquel told E! News at the premiere party on Tuesday.
According to Raquel, she did “a little investigation” to make sure that Lala’s claim about her encounter with her former fiancé was true.
“For some reason, I was very naive back in the day, and I thought that James never cheated on me, but this just, like, clarified that he has definitely cheated on me multiple times, and so that was definitely, definitely a hard pill to swallow,” Raquel explained.
Also at the party, James, who admitted to having “fun” on the side throughout his relationship with Raquel, spoke to Hollywood Life, insisting that his rendezvous with Lala was not his proudest moment.
“[It] obviously [was] not my proudest moment,” he stated. “[But] this was six years ago, so that to me, you know, I hadn’t thought about that in such a long time. That was kind of a dark skeleton that was tucked away forever, and brought back to life, but honestly, it’s not my place to be mad at Lala [for revealing it]. But it was a reflecting moment for me to see how far I’ve come.”
Although the information wasn’t brought to Raquel’s attention right away, James assured viewers that her reaction was intense, saying, “You’ve got to definitely watch what happens because it’s crazy. It’s crazy.”
“Raquel found out, obviously, when I told her and I didn’t get the reaction that I was expecting. I get it later on in the season,” he continued.
As for Lala, she said she came forward with the information in an effort to move forward in her relationships with a “clean slate.”
“I just wanted skeletons out of my closet. I felt like I had just been living in so much sh-t since my [split with Randall] … And I didn’t want this monkey on my back every time I was around her knowing this one detail,” she reasoned. “I don’t know if I made the right call, but I’m glad it’s all out there now.”
Vanderpump Rules season 10 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
