Kathy Wakile hinted at why she’s no longer on Real Housewives of New Jersey. The star also shaded “a lot of people” on the show who “rehearse” before shooting and “manufacture” reality for a “good story.”
Many fans have accused castmate Melissa Gorga of not having a real storyline and revolving her plot around sister-in-law Teresa Giudice. In an earlier season, Melissa and her husband Joe Gorga appeared to ditch their relationship with Kathy and Jacqueline Laurita because they temporarily made peace with Teresa, who was feuding with them.
“My problem is I never rehearse what I’m about to say, like a lot of people,” she wrote. “So sometimes when I’m trying to get my point across I fumble with the right words.”
The alum went on to say, “My reality is what I signed up for, I wasn’t changing that to make a ‘good story’ or ‘good TV’ like many [castmates] do.”
Kathy added, “After being on a reality show for a while many people get caught up in that life and want/need to stay in that world so they manufacture ‘reality’ to be interesting.”
“I am me,” she said simply. “I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten wise, I’ve grown and I keep learning each day is a blessing. Thank God.”
Recently, former castmate Jacqueline called Melissa “manipulative,” and she said she was good at lying with a “straight face.”
“Let’s just say that she was really good at lying while keeping a straight face and very good at manipulating people,” wrote Jacqueline on Instagram. “I did start to see a different side of Teresa once Melissa came around.”
On an episode of WWHL: After Show, Melissa claimed she and Joe are “sad” they no longer have cousins Kathy and Rosie Pierri in their lives (after cutting them out during the temporary Teresa alliance).
Many viewers have pointed out the convenience of such a remark, considering it no longer serves Joe and Melissa to be antagonistic toward his cousins.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
