Lala Kent spoke of the upcoming 11th season of Vanderpump Rules during an interview over the weekend.
As she admitted that she and her castmates faced a major “divide” as they filmed the new season post-“Scandoval” and described the new episodes as “very difficult,” Lala, 33, offered an update on her sobriety and shared an exciting milestone that was recently reached by her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Ocean.
“Sobriety’s the best gift I’ve ever given to myself, and I can’t allow my daughter to ever see that version of me,” Lala told PEOPLE at an event on Saturday. “I am approaching one day at a time, but I’m approaching five years of sobriety and my daughter’s 2-and-a-half, so I stay sober obviously for me, because if you stay sober for someone else, that’s just a recipe for relapse.”
According to Lala, she is extremely thankful that her daughter will never have to see her intoxicated.
“To think about the fact that my child is always going to see me in this form and never under the influence, you can’t put a price on that,” she noted. “I am very grateful I found sobriety when I did.”
As for Ocean’s new milestone, Lala revealed she’s potty training “on the big girl potty.”
“I don’t know if my baby is a baby genius. I’m biased, so I’m just going with that. She’s just the most magical human I’ve ever encountered in my life,” Lala gushed.
Moving on to the new season, Lala admitted she’s “so happy” filming on Pump Rules season 11 has wrapped.
“It was a very, very difficult season,” she also told PEOPLE. “We’ve never had a divide like this in the group that you literally cannot repair.”
Although Lala noted that she’s currently “in such a healing place,” she said that filming was “a little bit of a mind fog.”
“I don’t remember much about the season,” she shared. “I was just very in my own zone this season, which is very different from last year. I was ripping everyone’s heads off.”
As Pump Rules fans will recall, Lala and her castmates had it out with Tom Sandoval, 40, and Raquel Leviss, 29, at the season 10 reunion after learning they’d been having an affair behind the back of his longtime girlfriend and her longtime friend Ariana Madix, 38.
Following the completion of production, Sandoval launched a podcast, Everybody Loves Tom, in which he opened up about his affair with Raquel and admitted to contemplating suicide. And while Lala said she hadn’t yet listened to the premiere episode, she thinks “it’s great” that he’s started one.
Vanderpump Rules season 11 is expected to premiere on Bravo later this year or early next year.
