RHOSLC star Monica Garcia is discussing finalizing her divorce from husband Mike Garcia in the wake of her affair. She also talked about where she stands with her mother today after exposing the “volatile” nature of their relationship.
As fans know, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, 40, first split from her husband Mike in 2013, and the two filed for divorce again in June.
The Brea Baby founder spoke during BravoCon 2023 about finalizing her divorce a “week and a half ago,” adding, “I’m in Vegas — like, what a way to celebrate.” The reality TV star admitted that she “doesn’t know” if she’s dating someone new – obviously playing coy.
Monica went on to tell PEOPLE that she doesn’t have a type when it comes to dating. “It’s more about the connection, for me.”

Monica also gave the magazine an update on her relationship with her mom, saying that she had “no regrets” about bringing her on the show.
Though the two had previously been in conflict, they have now gone silent. Monica explained that the two are no longer speaking. They went silent following an explosive row at co-star Angie Katsanevas’ Easter brunch, which aired on an episode of RHOSLC.
She remarked, albeit with sarcasm, that it’s easy to do because her mother “has a lot of nice things to say” online about her. She seems alright with the situation, however, explaining that she’s “OK right now.”
She added that her relationship with her mother has “always been pretty volatile,” but despite that, she doesn’t regret bringing her on the show. “I think it’s something that people need to see, honestly, to not feel alone.”
Monica went on to say that her DMs had been filled with people expressing tearful gratitude because they saw parallels with their own relationships with their parents. She said, “For that reason alone, I definitely don’t regret it.”
Fans may recall during last week’s episode of RHOSLC, Monica opened up about her stressful younger years, describing to co-star Heather Gay how her relationship with her mother was “so volatile” dating all the way back to her entire childhood.
Later in the same episode, viewers watched as a discussion with her mom, Linda, turned sour. Monica scolded her for taking “everybody else’s side” and apologizing for her to people she barely knew at the Easter brunch. That’s when Linda ordered her daughter not to be disrespectful and even called her a “motherf**ker” when Monica interrupted her.
Ultimately, Linda intimated that she has no immediate plans to forgive her daughter, explaining, “I can’t fix this. I don’t have the tools. We need therapy, there’s no other way.”
