RHOC's Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Ex Sean Accuse Each Other of Abuse as Daughter Rowan Files for Protection Order Against Mom, Citing “Emotional Harm” and "Physical Abuse"

Braunwyn Windham-Burke and her ex-husband Sean Burke filed dueling orders of protection against each other at the end of last year, accusing one another of abuse, just days before their 21-year-old daughter, Rowan Windham-Burke, filed for her own protective order against the former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member.

Just months before Rowan and her brother, Jacob Windham-Burke, 18, defended dad Sean, 50, on Instagram, saying he was the “kindest most amazing person” and claiming Brauwyn, 46, is an “abuser, liar, and manipulator,” Braunwyn accused Sean of physically assaulting her and damaging her belongings as he alleged that she was “threatening” to “disown” their kids and “kick them out of her home.”

According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly on March 6, Braunwyn was awarded a temporary protection order for herself and her youngest kids, including twins Caden and Curren, 10, and daughters Koa, 9, and Hazel, 5, against Sean in January following a dispute on December 26, 2023.

“[Sean] grabbed my shoulders, slammed me into the outside of the garage and continued to shake me until I ran to the car and left as quickly as possible,” Braunwyn wrote, accusing her ex-husband of punching her in the eye, property damage, and stalking their children at school.

Meanwhile, in Sean’s court document, he accused Braunwyn of verbal abuse, saying she was “scaring the kids with false allegations that their dad is violent,” damaging his belongings, and telling their children she “wants my girlfriend to die.”

Days later, in documents of her own, Rowan said Braunwyn, who is engaged to fiancée Jennifer Spinner, “destroyed” her property, “caused unfixable emotional harm,” and “physically abused” her. According to Rowan, her mother hit her in the head with a “ballet barre” in 2020 and has “abused, hit, and thrown things” at her father.

Following the filings of Braunwyn and Sean, whose divorce was finalized in November 2023, both petitions were denied due to “lack of cause” and a hearing was set. However, days before the hearing was set to take place, both parties withdrew their requests for orders of protection, and Rowan’s filing was tossed out on February 29, just as she and Jacob lashed out at their mom on Instagram.

Braunwyn and Sean are expected to continue individual therapy following the incident and agreed not to be violent or talk poorly about one another in front of their children.

In response to the court drama, a rep told Us Weekly, “The Windham-Burke family is choosing to handle this privately and will not be commenting.”

Braunwyn Windham-Burke and her family were featured on seasons 14 and 15 of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
