Christina Hall and her estranged husband, Joshua Hall, were reportedly experiencing marital drama prior to their divorce filings — despite her very recent claims regarding their allegedly successful marriage.

After Christina, 41, and Joshua, 43, filed dueling divorce petitions, with Joshua citing “irreconcilable differences,” an insider is shedding light onto their “issues” as the couple hints at a potentially messy split by disagreeing on their date of separation and feuding over potential spousal support.

“[They] had issues in the marriage for quite some time,” a source told PEOPLE on July 16.

As fans may recall, Christina confirmed her romance with Joshua in July 2021, and according to PEOPLE, they tied the knot just months later in October of that same year. In the years since, Christina has shared numerous posts honoring her spouse, including a birthday tribute in September 2023.

“Happy Birthday to my gorgeous husband,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “My ride or die, protector and the best step daddy. I truly appreciate everything you do for me [and] the kids.”

Nearly one year later, Christina and Joshua are separated — and unable to agree on when their breakup actually occurred. As court documents obtained by E! News revealed, Josh claims he and Christina split on July 8, but Christina claims it was one day prior, on July 7.

Also in the filings, Josh requested the assets that he and Christina acquired during their marriage, including their Newport Beach home, be split equally, and for Christina to be ordered to pay him spousal support and cover his attorney’s fees. Meanwhile, Christina wants Joshua to pay for the costs of her attorneys and for the court to deny his request for spousal support, in addition to restoring her name back to Christina Meursinge Haack.

Us Weekly is also reporting that Christina will continue their new show, The Flip Off, with Tarek and Heather but without Josh.

“They are in production of The Flip Off without Josh,” a source shared. “They’re moving forward with the show without him.”

Just before their breakup was announced, Christina told E! News what she felt was the key to her and Joshua’s relationship success.

“Keep communication open … And then having alone time when we can, whether it’s date night, going on little trips—just things like that,” she shared.

Prior to Joshua, Christina was married to Tarek El Moussa, 42, the father of her daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8, for seven years, and to Ant Anstead, 45, dad to her youngest son, four-year-old Hudson, for less than two years.

Christina and Joshua are set to star alongside Tarek and his wife, Heather El Moussa, in The Flip Off, which is set to begin airing on HGTV in 2025.
