Christina Hall is "Done" With Husband Joshua and "Doing Great," Felt He Wasn't "Contributing Enough" to Marriage as Insider Claims They Did Not Sign a Prep, Plus Christina Accuses Josh of Sending Himself $35,000 of Her Money

Christina Hall was completely “done” with her husband, Joshua Hall, when she filed for divorce earlier this month after just under three years of marriage.

As it was confirmed that Christina, 41, and Josh, 44, did not sign a prenuptial agreement before they wed in October 2021, and that Christina had accused her spouse of sending himself $35,000 of her money on the day he claimed they separated, a July 2 interview seemed to show cracks in their marriage.

While promoting her HGTV series, Christina on the Coast, Christina claimed that she and Josh were keeping their spark alive with date nights and shared plans to celebrate her July 9 birthday before tensing up at the mention of their upcoming show, The Flip Off, which also stars her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, 42, and his wife, Heather El Moussa, 36.

“It’s never easy to work with a spouse,” Christina admitted to Us Weekly prior to her and Josh’s split. “It’s a whole new dynamic for us, and it’s going to be interesting how it plays out.”

Weeks later, both Christina and Josh filed for divorce, with Christina saying they separated on July 7 and Josh claiming it was one day later, on July 8. Since then, Josh has moved out of their $12.6 million home in Newport Beach, California.

“Christina was trying, but things happened, and it just wasn’t working,” an insider explained. “Christina was done when she filed the papers. It’s hard, but she’s doing great.”

In his court documents against Christina, Josh requested spousal support and for the assets they acquired during their short-lived marriage, including their home, to be equally split. He also wants rights to any Discovery and HGTV series they worked on during their marriage.

Meanwhile, Christina is requesting the court block Josh from collecting support.

In response to the filings, New York-based divorce attorney Dror Bikel, who is not working with either party, suggested that due to the length of their marriage, Christina would come out just fine.

“She’s the monied spouse, she was more successful. We know that because he’s seeking alimony and equal division of property and assets from the media program they have together,” he explained. “[The court] will ask if people are tuning in [to their shows] for her or for him. Is it equal? Her side will likely argue that people are tuning in for her, [and that] it’s not 50/50, maybe 80/20, so she will have claim over more of that revenue.”

As for The Flip Off, a source confirmed production would continue without Josh.

“They are moving forward without him,” the insider said.

According to a second Us Weekly report, Christina and Josh did not sign a prenuptial agreement before they wed — and money became an issue in their courtship.

“Christina works very hard and is successful. She felt like Josh was not contributing enough to the household,” the insider revealed, although a second source insisted Joshua was working throughout their marriage.

The insider also said that Christina and Josh’s split wasn’t “sudden,” noting that they “have had issues for a while.”

Despite the marriage being short-lived, it seems that Christina and Josh could be headed for a messy court battle as she’s already accused him of transferring $35,000 of her money into his own bank account without her permission.

According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Christina said, “Josh was able to divert over $35,000 of my separate property rental income into his account.”

“I am asking for Josh to account for the funds taken and return them to me as those funds are specifically used to pay any loans, obligations, property taxes, insurance, and maintenance for these rental properties,” she continued as Josh denied wrongdoing to the outlet.

Recalling what happened, Christina pointed out that she has rental properties in Nashville and Franklin, Tennessee, and that Josh contacted her property manager on July 8 and stated, in a text, “Hi. For June payments, can we please get it sent to a different account when it’s time? Thank you.”

While also attaching a screenshot of the purported text, Christina said she learned about what had happened on July 21.

“I would not have asked him to send himself my money the day after I told him we are getting divorced,” she clarified, adding that her property manager complied “believing I had authorized the change of accounts and asked for account details and Josh provided his own Wells Fargo Bank account.”

Christina then said that the attorney representing Josh sent her a legal letter, requesting she preserve any electronic evidence that would be relevant to their case.

“[S]o I unplugged [the] cameras so the system would not automatically overwrite the hard drive,” she wrote in her documents. “Each time Josh has returned to the house he has plugged the cameras back in, which would allow him to keep me and my children under surveillance. I object to him having that access into my home.”

Continuing on about Josh’s spousal support request, Christina stated, “I understand that at some point this court may require that I pay some spousal support to Josh and reasonable attorney’s fees to his counsel. However, it is my belief that this is a simple case with straightforward accounting over a short period of time, any fees and costs should be minimal.”

“Like all hard-working mothers, my life revolves around my children and my work. It is my understanding that Josh has his own income and therefore he should not need any spousal support from me. He has sufficient assets of his own to pay his own attorney’s fees and costs. Quite frankly I am shocked and concerned by the fact that he has diverted over $35,000 of my separate property money to his separate account on July 8, 2024. The fact that this is the same date he now alleges to be our date of separation, even though it is actually July 7, 2024, makes it clear why he chose the next day,” she went on.

Also in her court documents, Christina said she’s been left wondering “what else I am not aware of as it relates to his financial situation and that is why I am having a full forensic accounting performed for the entire term of our marriage.”

Christina is asking for exclusive use of their Newport Beach home, explaining that while both names are on the deed, she paid for it after selling a home in Dana Point.

After splitting from Tarek, the father of her oldest children, daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8, in 2018, Christina was married to Ant Anstead, 45, the dad to her four-year-old son Hudson, from 2018 to 2021.
