Emma Hernan leaked a series of text messages on her Instagram page on Wednesday that confirmed that while Nicole Young was told there was “no affair” between her and a mystery man, she continued to spread the lie throughout season eight of Selling Sunset.
After it was confirmed that the cast would not be getting a reunion, and amid rumors of a potential cancellation due to the cast’s feud with producers, 34-year-old Emma took to social media to expose Nicole, 38, for targeting her with a “pathetic” storyline in an effort to slander her character.
“Since I wasn’t even given the chance to address these LIES on screen, I am taking matters into my own hands by sharing the truth,” Emma began in her October 9 post. “Please swipe to see the receipts showing February 14th while filming Nicole was told clear as day ‘there was no affair’ and she chose to film an entire season spreading lies.”
“To clarify, this all was a complete lie intended to diminish my character and reputation for a pathetic and desperate attempt at a storyline,” she added.
In the accompanying screenshots, Emma leaked messages between Nicole and her “source,” sharing that their messages had been sent amid production when Nicole was in Pioneertown.
“They have cornered me over and over again to spill the beans and talk about it but I refuse to say anything other than, I heard something about Emma that is highly upsetting. Also I don’t know any details whatsoever. Now they’re going to other[s] [Amanda Lynn] and [Mary Fitzgerald] trying to get info from them and they are also stonewalling the situation,” Nicole wrote in one message. “Anyway, just wanted to let you know and if you have ANY advice for how to handle or steer the situation away from it altogether and completely, please let me know. And so sorry for the late text. Also, we are in Joshua Tree with little to no cell service so if you respond and I don’t get back to you, it’s cuz your text didn’t go through but I’ll be back tomorrow late afternoon.”
Following the sharing of the message, the unnamed source wrote back to Nicole, saying, “OH NO. Just diffuse. Down play it. It wasn’t an affair. Don’t give it any steam. That would be a nightmare.”
“Ok perfect and will do,” Nicole replied, “But it wasn’t an affair? I’m so confused now. If it wasn’t an affair then they have nothing.”
Along with her screenshot, Emma told her fans and followers, “Here Nicole finds out while in Pioneertown that there was NO affair, and yet still filmed a full season spreading the lie.”
