Kyle Cooke looked back on Amanda Batula‘s confirmation of her romance with West Wilson on Tuesday’s Watch What Happens Live.
As he also reflected on the “emotional” Summer House reunion, revealed a voice note he sent to West, 31, and confirmed plans to speak with his former friend, Kyle, 43, shared his thoughts on whether Amanda, 34, and West would last, commented on West’s treatment of Ciara Miller, 30, discussed dating, Paige DeSorbo, 33, rumors, regrets, and more.
During his May 19 appearance on WWHL, Kyle shared an update on his relationship with Amanda’s parents, denying the notion that Amanda’s dad doesn’t like him.
“Amanda’s dad just had a party, it was in the city, he DMed me. He just responded to one of those new instant photos … contrary to belief, I had an amazing relationship with Amanda’s parents and would like to think I still do,” he stated.
When it comes to Paige, Kyle admitted he hadn’t heard from her.
“No, I haven’t heard from Paige. I wished her a happy birthday, that was November. It’s been a minute,” he confirmed.
Kyle also spoke of his reaction to Amanda and West’s relationship, specifically their shocking statement confirming they were indeed together in late March.
“[Amanda] had texted Ciara about nine hours before she finally called me so I was already in the know. This is the day before they put the statement out and I was in disbelief. I’m not gonna lie,” shared Kyle.
Still, as he and his estranged wife filmed the reunion, he felt an allegiance toward her.
“In the preview … I got up, and I was like, ‘Should I go after her,’ when West didn’t. I mean, it was hectic. It was an emotional … I don’t know. It was tough,” he admitted of the taping.
“It’s still so surreal,” he continued. “I saw her last night, and we actually had a good couple of laughs. But when I think about them together, like when I saw the preview today, when he kissed her, I’m just like, ugh. I’ve seen him kiss a lot of things.”
Regarding his communication with West, Kyle explained his voice note.
“I was like, ‘I will never, ever say that I won’t film with someone. I’m not trying to ruin your career. I’m not trying to ruin your reputation.’ So I wanted to make it clear that I’m like, ‘Look, we will hash this out at some point. I’m not ready right now, but at some point. I’d love to have a convo,’” he revealed.
Then, when fellow guest Lindsay Hubbard, 39, asked him when he’ll be ready, Kyle dropped a bomb.
“Rumor has it, tomorrow,” he replied.
Continuing on, Kyle didn’t seem convinced that Amanda and West would last, pointing out that West “hasn’t had a relationship last in his entire adult life.”
Moving on to Amanda’s mental health, Kyle reacted to those who’ve accused him of “sticking up for her” and “defending her.”
“I’m not,” he insisted. “I’m just trying to be there for her. No matter what, I still care for her. There’s still a lot of love. I’m not excusing her behavior … even when the writing was on the wall, there’s still love.”
Then asked about West saying he didn’t want to be Ciara’s boyfriend to everyone except her, Kyle said, “I thought the casual comment to [Ben Waddell] was just wild because Ciara could not have made it more clear that for season eight that she’s not in it for a casual fling.”
According to Kyle, Ciara and West jumped back in too quickly after making up.
“They hashed it out, and 24 hours later they were making out,” he recalled.
As for his love life, Kyle said that he was “having fun” dating and denied the rumor about him falling asleep at a fan’s house.
“It wasn’t a fan’s house, as we’ll soon find out. But I have regrets all around about that night,” he admitted. “I have many regrets from last summer. I literally spontaneously combusted, but that’s not an excuse. I’m still a work in progress.”
“Unbeknownst to everybody, I actually went on Prozac for a couple of months, which really accelerated the blackout effect,” he added.
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Kyle admitted that it’s been “great” not being in the hot seat.
“[I’m] absolutely [relieved] but here’s the thing: It’s such a bittersweet situation,” he explained. “It sucks, but yes, it’s great because I thought I was gonna have to wait a year for more TV to be like, ‘I’m so sorry’ … it’s so hard to explain yourself when you’re misunderstood [regarding] the other 10 months.”
The three-part Summer House season 10 reunion begins next Tuesday, May 26, at 8/7c, followed by In the City season one at 9/8c on Bravo.
