Amanda Frances admitted to considering the purchase of Dorit Kemsley‘s soon-to-be foreclosed-upon home on Nick Viall‘s podcast on Wednesday.
As she shared her thoughts on returning to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for season 16, shaded her castmates for acting out for camera time, and confirmed which of her co-stars she was in touch with, Amanda, 41, discussed Dorit’s money drama with estranged husband Paul “PK” Kemsley, 58, revealed her communication with Rihanna, 37, and recalled a season 15 break from filming.
“Sometimes I consider buying it,” Amanda shared of Dorit’s $6.5 million home on the June 3 episode of The Viall Files. “If it wasn’t so modern, if it wasn’t so pigeonholed in this one specific style, and I thought we’d have an easier time renovating it into something that would make us money, I think I would absolutely consider buying it. I like … the headline, ‘Money Queen Buys House…’ [But] I don’t think it’d be a fun renovation for us.”
As fans saw on RHOBH, Amanda was concerned about Dorit’s finances long before her latest foreclosure threat.
“I was trying to understand how much understanding she had of her finances … and she didn’t know,” she recalled. “I think it’s just really obvious if you’re not sure the mortgage is getting paid, call the mortgage company. And if the mortgage isn’t getting paid, even if it’s supposedly your ex’s responsibility, if you want to save the home, pay the mortgage and spend less on designer clothes … I love to shop, but I would never not pay my mortgage.”
After suspecting that Dorit, 49, believed PK would look bad once people realized he was no longer paying her mortgage, Amanda said that “everyone looks bad,” as she told Dorit, “You gotta pay your bills.”
While it has been suspected that Amanda won’t return for season 16, she confirmed to Nick, 45, that nothing was official yet.
“It’s not official, and I’m not sure. Even [my husband, Eddie Tsivislavsky] was the strongest, ‘you really shouldn’t do that again, babe, you were really unhappy,’ but he’s had a change of tune … [But] it’s more psychological space than anyone can understand … It’s kind of a painful experience,” she explained as Eddie ranked her chances of returning as a 1.5 out of 10.
“Only because Riri,” he clarified.
Amanda then noted that certain cast members need the show for money.
“You can tell when you’re filming with them,” she shared. “I think [me not needing the show] irritated some of my castmates … Those who need it make their responses bigger than they actually are. Those who need it are always trying to make sure they’re getting the camera time, and they’re very different on camera than off camera … so when you get there, and you feel like people are doing whatever they have to do for their strategy and their storyline and their takedown, you’re like, ‘How do I ever get to know you?'”
Although Amanda butted heads with many of her co-stars throughout season 15, she also established friendships.
“I’ve seen [Kathy Hilton] … I’m sure I’ll always be friendly with [Kyle Richards]. I think I’d always be friendly with [Jennifer Tilly]. I think almost everyone, if I saw them out of the context of the show, we’d be able to say ‘hello’ to each other,” she admitted.
As for Rihanna reaching out to encourage her to return to RHOBH, Amanda shared her response.
“I replied to Rihanna, and I said, ‘Listen, thank you, I mean, the queen has spoken, like, thank you. But honestly, the environment was really hard on me. I don’t know if it’s something I want to do again.’ And then she replied with like, ‘I’m not taking sides,’” Amanda revealed. “She thought what all fans tend to think. She thought it was about the cast … I’m like, ‘We’re talking about whether I want to spend another year of my life doing whatever that just was. That’s not the same as I’m mad at a castmate.’”
Looking back on season 15, Amanda confirmed she had a week-long break.
“I had a break where I didn’t film just cuz the way everything worked out … and I remember the producer’s like, ‘How are you doing after not filming for a week?’ And I was like, ‘My brain turned back on. The creativity I was able to give my business this week is something I haven’t given it in months. The presence I was given my children. I became myself again,'” she explained.
“It’s weird to voluntarily commit to something where you feel so that it takes so much from you when your business and your family are your priorities,” she added.
