Angela Oakley spoke out amid backlash for accusing Shamea Morton of having an affair with Angela’s neighbor, George. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star also reacted to the claim that she’s “jealous” of Shamea’s marriage, as she alleged that the “truth” will be revealed.
On the latest episode, Angela claimed that George’s wife, Ashley, told her that Shamea cheated with George. But later on, it was revealed that Ashley completely refuted Angela’s claims. At this point, multiple cast members, including Phaedra Parks, who is considered on Angela’s ‘team,’ hinted that Angela was lying.
Since the episode aired, many fans have called Angela out, claiming she intentionally brought up the false allegations because she assumed the cast (who were beginning to turn on Shamea) would have Angela’s back. Earlier in the episode, Angela confronted Shamea for talking to her daughter behind Angela’s back.
In a June 28 post on X, Angela spoke out amid the controversy.
“Okay hang on TRUTH is coming for all involved,” wrote Shamea. “Wife included. Because WTF! … Also I didn’t know what was said to my daughter until I saw it on the show! My reaction stands. Please don’t speak to my daughter.”
“They would go on a two week break before the FULL story is revealed,” she continued, seemingly addressing how RHOA will not air this Sunday, July 5. “I can take the wins with the losses.”
Angela also claimed she didn’t want to bring it up.
“Facts matter. I was just having a private chat with my neighbor,” she wrote. “It wasn’t my intention to bring it to the group, and I didn’t. Someone else chose to introduce it here. I assume to create the narrative we’ve seen tonight. Truth will be revealed. #trusttheprocess.”
“Also please go support Crash2Cash. George and Ashley’s company,” Angela continued in another post. “A private conversation got exploited. And twisted and turned. They’ve been wanting to get on the show! You guys made it. 😎”
At one point, a fan wrote, “[Angela] saying Shamea acts like she married the Prince of Zamunda just showed us she’s jealous. And that’s why she’s trying to come for Shamea marriage.”
Angela responded, “No it was said because she doesn’t have a marriage to come for! Respect mine and I’ll respect yours. Simple.”
Earlier this week on WWHL, Pinky Cole called out Angela as well.
“Shamea has a very handsome husband, and you don’t play with people’s marriages like that,” she said at the time. “I was looking at Angela like Pinocchio after she said that to be honest because it looked like Shamea was telling the truth, and Angela kind of reverted and said, ‘Well, she didn’t say that like I said that,’ so we were like, ‘Somebody lying,’ so you know, I used to work for Maury, so I’m like, okay, I can spot a liar from a mile away. I’m like, ‘let’s get the lie detector test right now!’”
