Bozoma “Boz” Saint John shared her thoughts about Garcelle Beauvais‘ exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast and confirmed that they hadn’t spoken during an interview on Wednesday.
As she also weighed in on claims of Erika Jayne, 54, always being “mad,” suggested that Sutton Stracke‘s drinking habits had led to the end of several friendships, and revealed if she trusted her castmates, Boz, 49, said that while she “hadn’t talked to Garcelle” and didn’t “know what the truth” was, she suspected her series departure had to do with Sutton, 54.
“I believe it was fundamentally the breakdown of her friendship with Sutton. I think that’s really what happened,” Boz explained during a July 29 interview on The Jason Lee Show. “I think it hurt her so much. [And] maybe she was tired. This is an exhausting place to be because you’re giving everything. You’re telling everything, then people on the internet have opinions about you, and sometimes it’s not true, so you’re fighting on all surfaces.”
Boz then seemed to signal the lack of support Sutton gave Garcelle at her final reunion.
“It does feel like the housewives are their own little sorority. So, if you’re on the inner circle and then you get betrayed by somebody in the inner circle, that sh*t hurts harder, I think, than strangers on the internet,” she reasoned.
As for why Erika was “always mad,” Boz pointed out that she’d “been through it.”
“I think I’d be mad too if I married somebody and they treat me all kind of nice, and when she met [Thomas Girardi] I think she was like, a waitress, and so it’s like a big come-up, and she was with him a long time and was just in the marriage, and then all the sudden now you find out the man is lying and cheating and going to jail, and now you’re dragged in it and being sued by people?” she asked. “I’d be pissed off too.”
Moving on to Sutton’s drinking habits, Boz noted that while she believed her co-star “used to be a sipper,” she has since “cut it out.”
“I think that was part of the whole issue that she had and even with, like, her friendship with Garcelle, I think that’s what happens. I think it was affecting a lot of things. She lost a lot of friends, like personal, real friends in her life,” she explained, seemingly giving a nod to Sutton’s estrangement from her former assistant, Avi Gabay.
Also during the interview, Boz said that when it came to trusting her castmates, “You just gotta keep your eyes open.”
“People will really show you who they are. And to some degree, I trust people to show me exactly who they are and then I trust that,” she shared.
As for her “darkest secrets,” she said she would tell “nobody.”
“I wouldn’t. That’s between me and God,” Boz concluded.
