Lacy Nicole addressed the cease and desist she sent to her Valley co-star and Danny Booko‘s behavior on season three during a podcast appearance on Sunday.
While also sharing what fans don’t get to see of Jesse Lally, 46, reacting to his emotional scene with his ex-wife Michelle Saniei, 37, and reflecting on the reunion taping, Lacy, 35, revealed whether she would marry Jesse and attempted to avoid questions about Michelle’s new man, rapper Dr. Dre, 61.
“I sent a cease and desist not because they were talking about me. People are allowed to talk about me. I’m already kind of a public figure. I already had a podcast. I already did public speaking. The thing is, the girls were saying things that were not only untrue, they could have potentially harmed my career or my custody of my child at the time,” Lacy explained on the July 26 episode of Lori Altermann’s Fan or Fanatic Podcast.
She added, “They were saying they heard some rumor about me committing a crime and so I did send the cease and desist, only to one … [And] I stand by it because I’m an adult and I’m allowed to have a boundary when it comes to my parenting and my life.”
As for Danny and his questionable behavior, Lacy said there are surely scenes “that he’s not proud of,” before admitting that Danny doesn’t do well when drinking amid stressful situations.
“I’m not blind to it. I wholeheartedly disagree with the behavior,” she declared.
Lacy then said she didn’t like how Danny spoke to his wife, Nia Booko, 37, and Lala Kent, 35.
“I don’t like any man talking to me that way. I wouldn’t want someone talking to my spouse that way, but I also know off-camera they have a great relationship and communicate about these things. They discuss these things with a professional. I just, is it how I would want to be talked to? No. Is it something I could condone? No,” she clarified.
Lacy was particularly bothered by Danny shading Lala as “Miss Triggered.”
“I never want to make fun of a woman who’s triggered,” she stated. “It bothered me watching it back, just as a woman and knowing we all have triggers. But he’s the first person that came to me off-camera and said, recently, ‘I’m sorry that went down that way.’ At least I know he has the self-awareness to say, ‘That wasn’t right on my end.’”
Moving on to her boyfriend, Lacy said fans don’t get to see his humorous side on the show.
“I think that Jesse, something that’s maybe lost on the camera, is he’s so funny. He has a quick wit and this humor that I appreciate,” she gushed.
Regarding his scene with Michelle, Lacy confirmed Jesse gave her a heads-up.
“Jesse had told me what happened, and I was really happy for them,” she revealed. “I’ve seen that they had a beautiful love story. I think a lot of women, especially, maybe men as well, go through divorce, and it’s easy to pinpoint the anger because you wouldn’t be there if not. But you forget these years that compounded into this love story, and watching it all back, it is emotional because one doesn’t take away from the other.”
“Someone can drive you crazy, and you freaking hate them, but you also have the best years of your life with them and those years were magical, so I think it’s a beautiful thing that they have that and those memories,” she added.
Following filming on the season three reunion, Lacy said that the taping was “really hard.”
“I think I went in and in my mind, I was like, ‘Okay, I only have this little tidbit part,’ and I ended up being out there for a while and it was really hard for me because you’re revisiting things,” she reasoned. “The peacemaker side of me, there’s like an angel on this shoulder that’s like, ‘Just let it be water under the bridge.’ And then there’s my ego side of me, the devil on my shoulder, that’s like, ‘No, this is not true.’ And I feel like the devil shoulder won, and I’m not proud of that.”
As for her future with Jesse, Lacy admitted marriage is off the table.
“I don’t want to get married again. It’s nothing to do with alimony. I don’t appreciate the girls saying that. I’ve been divorced, and I don’t want to be married again. I don’t want to do that again and I think that’s fair,” she stated.
Also on the podcast, after being questioned about Dr. Dre, Lacy confirmed his request that the cast stay silent.
“I’m actually trying to avoid any Dr. Dre-adjacent headline. I know he didn’t want us speaking about him in the press, so I’m trying to actually honor that,” she explained.
