Andy Cohen is clapping back at Kelly Dodd after the Real Housewives of Orange County star said he was “full of sh*t” for defending the casting of MAGA housewives.
After Andy, 58, said the show was about “relationships, not about politics,” Kelly, 50, wondered why he didn’t speak up on her behalf when she was a victim of cancel culture due to her political beliefs, and she also alleged that numerous housewives had lost their Bravo jobs for “being honest about their conservative values.”
“I deserve an apology. You were standing behind this cancel culture, and you know what? I can guarantee you most conservatives, which is a silent majority, [are] not watching Bravo or your show anymore,” Kelly had declared in a video shared to her Instagram page on August 10.
On Threads, after her post was made, Page Six shared a message that spoke of Kelly’s allegation of Bravo “[discriminating] against conservatives.”
In the comments section, several people lashed out at Kelly, recalling a season 15 moment in which she yelled, “I’m Black,” in response to racism claims, and slamming her as “horrible.”
“She’s such an a**. She’s just pissed [that] out of all the conservatives, Bravo doesn’t want HER,” one person suspected.
“No way! Not another conservative claiming to be a victim?!” asked another.
“They just don’t want human trash on their station. She’s a horrible human and being conservative is the least of her problems,” wrote a third.
Others called Kelly a “rage baiter” and accused her of “taunting others with her MAGA privileged bull.”
“She was terrible on the show and she blames it on everyone else but her!” someone else added.
After reading through viewers’ reactions to Kelly’s claims against him and Bravo, Andy offered a response.
“These comments are [crazy],” he replied.
The drama surrounding RHOC and its potential MAGA cast members began at the end of July, when it was revealed that Emily Simpson, 50, had allegedly donated to President Donald Trump, 80, before the 2020 election.
Although Emily insisted she was “anti-MAGA,” stating that she had “strong values,” fans had their doubts, which led them to question Andy about his casting.
“Why so many MAGA women?? I can’t watch [RHOC] anymore because of them,” one person asked on Threads on August 9.
“If we didn’t showcase people with different POV’s there would be no show. Also it’s a show about the women and their relationships, not about politics,” Andy replied.
Tamra Judge, 58, also weighed in with her own statement, declaring, “This Housewife is not MAGA!” Heather Dubrow, 57, replied, “ME EITHER.”
