A discussion between Pinky Cole and Phaedra Parks was reportedly edited by Bravo ahead of this past Sunday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion.
Following a conversation the women had earlier this season in regard to Pinky’s decision to carry a gun for protection, Pinky, 38, confronted Phaedra, 52, accusing her co-star of going to the network’s “higher-ups” on the August 16 episode of the three-part special, but only a portion of their chat was aired, and the word “gun” was not heard.
According to an August 17 report from TMZ, Bravo turned Pinky’s gun talk into a vague reference to a “device.” However, insiders confirmed the “device” in question was, in fact, a gun, and they added that Pinky was never armed during filming.
While the comments Pinky made to Phaedra were not at all a threat and were simply statements about carrying to protect herself, Phaedra didn’t like that Pinky mentioned the weapon at all.
On the show, Phaedra told Pinky, “This ain’t ‘The Wire,'” in reference to the HBO series based out of Pinky’s hometown of Baltimore. Then, after Pinky suggested that Phaedra went to Bravo executives to get her in trouble, both Phaedra and Andy Cohen, 58, denied that was how it happened.
As RHOA fans will recall, season 16 erupted in scandal after Brit Eady, 38, mentioned a gun after a heated argument with Kenya Moore, 55, which many felt was made in a threatening manner. However, according to Brit, she was not threatening her co-star.
“For the record, I’ve never once had possession of any weapons or threatened anyone ever. I’ve never even been to jail, in a fight, or even had as much as a speeding ticket. That’s not in my character. I am hurt by the narrative that’s being displayed. Wrong is wrong,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
