Fans of Don’t Be Tardy were shocked last month when it was revealed that Kim Zolciak’s son Kroy “KJ” Jagger Biermann was arrested for sexual assault.
While the 15-year-old was being kept in jail without bond, today, the results of his indictment were revealed.
Us Weekly obtained the document in which KJ was indicted on seven charges.
Specifically, the indictment accused KJ of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and three counts of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.
Prior to this news breaking, KJ’s lawyers had requested he be released on bond.
They noted that he is not a flight risk and pointed to his academic and athlete record to show he has good character, TMZ reported.
“His ties to his family and community are substantial. His parents live separately, and he maintains a home and relationship with each,” court documents stated. “Beyond his immediate family, he is surrounded by an established community of extended family, friends, coaches, teachers and others who remain actively involved in his life and continue to support him and his family during the pendency of these serious allegations.”
KJ’s lawyers revealed that he is facing two felony charges that each carry mandatory minimum sentences of 25 years. If he ends up being found to be guilty on both counts, he could potentially be sentenced to 50 years behind bars.
A hearing has been scheduled for September 9.
Court documents obtained on August 21 stated a sexual assault was reported on April 24 at the North Fulton Hospital, where a girl KJ went to school with, alongside her father, told cops that an encounter with KJ had taken place the day before.
The girl alleged that she and KJ were spending time together at the gym and ended up going into a co-ed sauna when she claimed he got handsy.
She revealed she tried telling “no” but alleged he wouldn’t stop and forced her mouth onto his penis and digitally penetrated her vagina.
Police reached out to KJ’s father, Kroy Biermann, on May 14, after an investigation.
They spoke with him on May 18, and Kroy, 40, said he would bring up the matter to Kim.
KJ has been in custody since August 17.
