EXCLUSIVE: Is 'Teen Mom' Over for Good? Insider Reveals the Show’s Future and Confirms Two New Documentaries

Since 2009, Teen Mom has undoubtedly been one of the most popular reality show franchises on MTV.

After 16 and Pregnant premiered in 2009, it led to many Teen Mom iterations.

The latest one was Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.

While the last season finished airing in May 2025, there hasn’t been a lot of news on the Teen Mom front. Typically, the show would air multiple times a year, but nothing has happened since the last season wrapped.

An insider spoke exclusively to Reality Blurb to confirm what’s going on.

“The cast has not heard anything,” the source stated. “At this point, they assume the show is done.”

More specifically, they confirmed the cast believes the show is “canceled” and “over.”

They went on to note that, as far as they know, “no filming has taken place since it last wrapped for the last season of the show.”

The insider also claimed that there will be two Teen Mom documentaries coming out: one on Netflix and one on Paramount.

“The one on Paramount will only have the OG women,” the source shared, “while the Netflix one has girls from all of the franchises.”

Even though Teen Mom is off the air, the women are still constantly making headlines.

Recently, Teen Mom 2 alum Jenelle Evans made headlines when she reacted to her ex David Eason‘s assault charges against her son, Jace Evans, being dropped.

“Idc about anything to do with that court case because it was drama for attention from all parts,” the 34-year-old wrote on X after the charges were dropped. “Keep me away from all of it. I’m minding my own business. I have 2 other kids that need my attention.”

David, for his part, did not issue a reaction to the charges being dropped.

Luckily, Jace is in a good place, as he recently updated fans on an Instagram live.

“My grandma, she’s doing pretty good,” he stated in the live on August 18 that The Ashley’s Reality Roundup caught. “I’m over here just living my life. Everyone was happy to have me back home. I’ve been doing my best.”

He shared that he was “pretty good” and noted that he has a relationship with his siblings who still live with Jenelle.

“Yes, I do, actually [have a relationship with them]. I have my little brother’s phone number and my little sister’s phone number,” Jace, 17, claimed. “I’ll call them here or there. When I’m 18, next year, I’m gonna probably drive up there and see them.”

When he finishes school, he revealed his hope is to “go around the world, travel and film content.” For now, though, he’s “getting what I need to get done.”

“I considered [living] by myself, honestly, but I’m at my grandma’s because I’ve got a job,” Jace added. “I’ve got everything I need to get done. I’m about to be done with school.”
