Jeff Lewis’ ex, Gage Edward, revealed his “Achilles heel” in their relationship, which Jeff later allegedly could “attack me on” to inflict “unimaginable pain.” Gage also shared what Jeff purportedly tried to “convince everybody” of.
In 2019, Gage left the Flipping Out star amid their 10-year relationship. Afterward, the exes fought in court over custody of their daughter for over two years. Though they eventually reached a custody agreement, Jeff and Gage have continued to have problems throughout their years.
On Substack, Gage addressed his issues with Jeff after their split.
“A person that fears abandonment that then gets abandoned, brace yourself because you’re about to be on the receiving end of quite a reckoning,” he said, seemingly referring to Jeff. “I don’t think most of it was actually about parenting or my parenting specifically. It was about a bruised ego.”
“Our common thread was communicating on parenting our daughter. Non-negotiable. We’re in each other’s lives,” Gage went on. “He knew from all the years prior of wanting to have a family together and in those first two years how I actually was as a parent, that that would be my Achilles heel. That was a thing you could really attack me on, and it would be highly effective at inflicting unimaginable pain.”
According to Gage, even though Jeff knew Gage was a great parent, he wanted to “convince everybody else that I wasn’t, because that’s painful.”
Last month, Jeff indicated that he’s going to court with Gage again after they failed to reach some kind of agreement.
“Hi, Gage. I have a very different recollection of events,” Jeff stated cryptically at the time on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. “And I [told him], ‘I don’t have the time or energy to indulge in fairytales. In the interest of compromise and putting this nonsense behind us, I’m willing to contribute $10,000 towards your attorney’s fees. …If you’re in agreement, I’ll ask my attorney to generate the paperwork.’”
“But of course, [Gage] gets back this morning with a justification of why he deserves the 35, but he’ll settle for 25,” Jeff added, “which I’m never going to pay.”
