Austen Kroll is clapping back after Salley Carson suggested he was jealous of the other men in her life.
After Salley discussed Austen, 39, on her shared podcast with Lala Kent, 36, last week, stating that the “problem” with their relationship was that the two of them got jealous of the people in each other’s lives, the Southern Charm star clarified that he was “[entertained]” by Salley’s dating life, which has included a tattooed mystery man and Summer House cast member Kyle Cooke, 44.
“Haha this just simply isn’t true. I encourage [Salley’s] dating life, it’s very entertaining,” Austen wrote in a comment on a post shared by Reality Blurb on Instagram in regard to Salley’s statement.
On the September 16 episode of Sex Unlocked, via Vanderpod Recaps on Threads, Salley spoke of her relationship with Austen, sharing that while they did hook up “once … [it] didn’t count,” and admitting that she got jealous when Austen made out with other women in front of her.
Salley also said, “My soul is the happiest when I’m with him.”
“It’s just easy,” she added.
Weeks prior, during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Salley said that when it came to Austen being ready to settle down, she believed he would do so one day.
“I feel like he doesn’t see it, but I see it for him,” she explained. “I just think, you know, I look at him, and I’ve said it before. I said it on the reunion. I think he’s going to make an incredible dad, and I think he’s going to be a really fun dad, and he’s going to be a great husband. He just has to get there. He’s not there yet.”
As for Austen, he suggested earlier this year that Salley was constantly pursuing him amid their nights out, despite his wanting to just be friends.
“She still will throw it out there of like, ‘Can I come home with you tonight?’” he shared on the Southern Charm: After Show. “And I’m like, ‘Salley, you can’t do this every time that we hang out.’ And then she’ll be like, ‘Okay, sorry, like, I did that. I’m not gonna do that again.’”
Meanwhile, Salley fired back, insisting that her interest in Austen was “very much reciprocated.”
Southern Charm season 12 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
