Scheana Shay reacted to Janet Caperna unfollowing her on Instagram and offered an update on her status with Ariana Madix on her podcast on Friday.
As she also explained why she recently apologized to Kristen Doute, 43, shared her thoughts on returning to The Valley, and revealed why she turned down The Weakest Link, which her Vanderpump Rules co-star, Tom Sandoval, 43, recently appeared on and won, Scheana, 41, hinted at the reason behind her rift with Janet.
“I don’t notice when people unfollow me,” Scheana admitted on the September 25 episode of Scheananigans, via Vanderpod Recaps on Instagram, after being asked about Janet.
She then added, “There are a number of people who I have set boundaries with in the past year in my life, and not everyone responds well to those boundaries.”
Moving on to Ariana, 41, Scheana said she would soon be seeing her in her new Broadway show, Just in Time.
“I’ve heard she is fantastic, which I already know because I saw her twice in Chicago. I’m so proud of her. I will be in New York for a performance of my own in a couple of weeks. I specifically have booked a late flight back so I can see the matinee show,” she confirmed.
Looking back at her falling out with Lala, agreeing with a fan who labeled her a “narcissist,” Scheana said she didn’t notice Lala was using her until the season 11 reunion when she “wasn’t being her mouthpiece enough.”
“All I was thinking about was my daughter,” Scheana shared, explaining that she acted as she felt Lala wanted her to out of fear that her daughter, Summer, 5, would lose her friendship with Lala’s daughter, Ocean, 5.
“I think I really realized after that reunion what her intentions were, and she just wanted someone to back up the sh*t that she said,” Scheana noted. “I was so convinced that I felt the same way, that I felt like that Ariana wasn’t doing her job, that she wasn’t having the hard conversations [about ‘Scandoval’] like we were having, but once I took a step back and watched everything back and really thought about it from Ariana’s perspective, I’m like, she was being the most authentic and real version of herself.”
Then, as she spoke of an apology she offered to Kristen, Scheana said she reached out after realizing that Kristen was right about someone.
“It wasn’t just one person; I will tell you that. That conversation was more about a pattern that I’ve recognized over the years. Kristen has the ability to clock things that I haven’t been able to see,” Scheana stated. “I think just sometimes it’s taken me a lot longer to come around and see people’s true colors for myself because, like I said, I do, I always try to see the good in people.”
While Scheana didn’t say who she was referring to, she may have been giving a nod to Janet, saying, “I didn’t see it until I saw it, if that makes sense. Like, nobody could have forced me to get there sooner. You have to see it for yourself.”
As for whether she’d return to The Valley, Scheana first said, “It would make sense [because] these are all of my friends,” before adding, “It doesn’t feel that it’s the right fit for us right now.”
“Maybe I pop up on it one day … We’ll see,” she teased. “I do know that I’m feeling ready to dip my toes back in the reality pond.”
According to Scheana, she’d rather do a special with her husband, Brock Davies, 36.
“I could see Brock and I doing something like that. We go down to Australia and New Zealand,” she said. “[But] I do love being a part of an ensemble cast. I like not having all of the pressure.”
Also on the podcast, after being asked if she was jealous of Tom’s appearance on The Weakest Link, Scheana confirmed that she turned the show down.
“I actually was asked for that one, but it filmed in Atlanta … the timing of it, it wasn’t going to work … and also they were saying it was like reality TV villains, and I was kind of offended,” she reasoned.
