Erika Hammond reacted to her castmates’ complaints about the pool dinner she threw them on her private island, Moskito Island, after last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City.
While Erika also suspected that her fellow newbie, Daisy Toye, was critical of her arrangements due to “jealousy,” and Jessel Taank, 46, accused Daisy of lacking fashion sense, Erika, 35, insisted that her intentions with the get-together were good.
“Our house manager was saying how she just hosted a group, and they really loved having this dinner in the pool, and I was like, ‘Sounds amazing. I’m sure these girls will love it,’” Erika explained on the October 6 episode of the RHONY: After Show before adding, “I was very wrong.”
Erin Lichy, 39, and Sai de Silva, 45, were confused by the concept of dinner in the water.
“Who has dinner with their feet in the pool?” asked Erika. “My feet were like, pruning. We didn’t get any benefit from sitting in the pool.”
“I don’t want my feet in this water … I was freezing,” Sai agreed.
As for Jessel, she simply wished she had known about the arrangements in advance.
“I wish Erika had told us and given us a heads up because I would’ve planned accordingly with my outfit,” she reasoned.
Meanwhile, Daisy was more critical, making it clear that she was uninterested in returning to Moskito Island before Carole Radziwill, 63, pointed out that she likely would not have the chance.
“Do you ever go some place and are you ever like, ‘I will never be back here in my lifetime?’ The island is one of those places,” Daisy stated.
“You’re definitely not gonna be invited back,” Carole replied.
In response to Daisy, in particular, Erika threw shade at her living situation, specifically the popcorn ceilings of her apartment.
“I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s jealousy. Maybe it’s envy. We have an island, and she has popcorn ceilings,” Erika noted.
Jessel also targeted Daisy, who labeled her attire for the evening as “Shein.”
“That was my Shein outfit I wore … I cannot,” Jessel exclaimed. “You can call me any insult under the sun, but Shein was like, that was really messed up … it was [a] $2,000 [outfit]. She didn’t even know the brand I was wearing.”
“I respect everyone’s opinion that has good fashion sense, but that coming from Daisy didn’t really make an impact on me,” she added.
