Still Flipping Out’s Jeff Lewis shared more details about his tense on-screen argument with Bethenny Frankel on Watch What Happens Live, revealed what she was like behind the scenes, and addressed where they stand today.

In their 2022 interview on WWHL, Jeff called out Bethenny for having a Housewives recap podcast, as he suggested that her concept was unoriginal. The host, Andy Cohen, also called Bethenny hypocritical, claiming that she’s been trashing the franchise for years. Later on, the Real Housewives of New York City alum seemingly hinted that she was ambushed by both of them. Around that same time, Bethenny began a movement called Reality Reckoning, which was meant to expose the truths behind reality TV.

On the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Jeff addressed his controversial WWHL episode with Bethenny.

“I thought we had a good time. Like, we were laughing, joking,” he said. “Even at the end of the night in the green room, she was so gracious, lovely. She had these beautiful Christmas ornaments that … she brought back from Europe or something. She gave me one for me and [my daughter] Monroe. I thought everything was good.”

“I think she went home and got in the comments … because by the next morning, everything had flipped,” he said. “And I wanted to get ahead of it quickly. So I called her, and I said, ‘Hey, I am so sorry. Like, we were having fun and joking.’ And I said to her, I go, ‘We’ve been on Watch What Happens Live together before. I thought if anyone I could banter with, it would be you.'”

Jeff called Bethenny “sharp.”

“But I think she got in the comments and I think that it somehow swayed her point of view,” he said. “But I got ahead of it, and I apologize profusely, and I think we’re good.”

After Bethenny’s WWHL interview, she never returned to the clubhouse again. Some people believe she’s persona non grata at Bravo, given her past attempts to expose the underside of its shows.

New episodes of Still Flipping Out air Mondays on Bravo.
