Venita Aspen opened up about a recent date with Carl Radke during a podcast appearance that aired Tuesday.
Weeks after spending time with the 40-year-old Summer House cast member, whom she described as “sweet,” the 32-year-old Southern Charm star revealed how they enjoyed their five-hour rendezvous while also sharing her thoughts on her fellow Bravolebrity’s sobriety.
“We have now gone on one date, which is very nice,” Venita revealed on the December 23 episode of Not Skinny But Not Fat. “We went to Soft Bar, of course, first, and I got to see that whole experience. Then, we went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant around the corner.”
According to Venita, she and Carl “shut the place down” and “had to be asked to leave.”
“I think it lasted for almost five hours. We were together, the whole day, for about five hours,” she continued.
After first meeting Carl in the Hamptons through his co-star, Ciara Miller, 29, Venita crossed paths with Carl at BravoCon, where Carl discussed their blooming connection.
“I had a great time hanging out with Venita yesterday,” Carl said at the time. “She’s beautiful, she’s really cool.”
Looking back, Venita said their interaction at BravoCon was what sparked romance rumors with fans.
“I feel like what really kind of sparked everything is when we did NBC Upfronts last year, there was a photo of us, and our hands were just touching,” she recalled. “Mind you, I never really thought anything about him until that moment. Then the internet blew it up.”
After the fan convention, Venita and Carl “kept being cheeky with each other” and ultimately set out on their first date.
“I literally texted him before we went on the date, and I was like, ‘Hey, like are you OK with if I drink?’” she explained.
Venita wanted to be sure that Carl wouldn’t mind if she drank, but she confirmed she did not take issue with him being sober.
“He was like, ‘Well, first of all, no one’s ever asked me that.’ I’m fine to not drink, and if someone’s trying to date someone or get to know someone better, they might not want their partner to drink. I was just like, ‘Oh, let me ask,’” she explained. “I had one margarita that lasted me the whole night. I was like, ‘Let me just make sure I drink slow.’ I don’t want to drink too much [and] make a fool of myself.”
Southern Charm season 11 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
