Andy Cohen and Luke Broderick explained why Danny Booko missed his Watch What Happens Live appearance on Wednesday’s episode, sharing whether his wife, Nia Booko, was truthful in her claim of him having booked a “huge new movie.”
As Luke also reflected on Danny’s treatment of Nia, 36, in recent episodes of The Valley, revealed why he and Kristen Doute, 43, didn’t insert themselves in the couple’s drama, and offered an update on his and Kristen’s sex life, Luke, 35, dished on their wedding plans, reacted to Jesse Lally, 46, and Lacy Nicole‘s dynamic, confirmed the reason behind Lala Kent, 35, and Scheana Shay‘s feud, and more.
“[Danny] booked a job and had to cancel to work, and I believe him because if he canceled because he was scared to come here, we would’ve heard from our publicist, ‘He’s not up for it,’” Andy, 57, explained on the May 20 episode of WWHL. “[And] he’s coming to the reunion, so he’s gonna deal with it.”
“I can corroborate,” Luke replied. “He definitely has a job.”
Looking back on Danny’s behavior against Nia during their cast trip to San Diego, Luke said the vacation was “not a good trip” or a “[good] look” for Danny, 42.
Although Luke denied that Danny’s antics spelled redemption for Janet Caperna, he admitted he “[couldn’t] defend” his co-star’s actions as he described Danny as an “a-hole.”
“I’m one of the biggest Danny defenders, and you know what? He was kind of an a-hole. Not kind of an a-hole. He was an a-hole,” Luke declared.
That said, he won’t be confronting Danny about it now.
“It’s weird to kind of go back. I haven’t spent as much time in this world as these other people. Anyway, for me to go back six months, and be like, ‘Hey, you were kind of an a**hole six months ago,’ is a weird conversation,” he explained.
As for Kristen saying she felt like Danny and Nia keep things behind closed doors, which she liked, Luke confirmed that he and his fiancée “check in on” Danny and Nia regularly.
“We check in on them. We’ll say, ‘Danny, you doing alright? Nia, you doing all right? Like, how are you guys doing?’ We want to be there for them, but at the same time don’t insert ourselves too much,” he shared.
Moving on to his own relationship, Luke denied feeling that his need for sex trumped Kristen’s postpartum experience.
“You can’t capture the entire story, but I regret pushing sex,” he confessed, adding that while he and Kristen are more active now, he’d “still like more.”
Looking ahead to their wedding, Luke said that he and Kristen haven’t done any planning quite yet.
“We’re planning a trip to look for venues. That’s as far as we’ve gotten,” he revealed.
Then asked if Janet and Jason Caperna, 42, would be invited, Luke continued, “There is no Janet or Jason on our guest list. But there’s also no guest list.”
Also on the live broadcast, Luke said it was “weird” that Jason refused to fully apologize to Danny, admitted he wasn’t bothered by Zack Wickham getting in between him and Kristen since “he’s close with both of [them],” and denied that Lacy was using Jesse to be on a Bravo show.
“Zero. They get along great. Lacy keeps Jesse in check, which is no easy task. So they’re good,” he stated.
Later on Wednesday night, Luke appeared on the WWHL: After Show, where he said he’d rather be stranded on an island with Tom Sandoval, 43, than Jax Taylor, 46, or James Kennedy, 34, and explained that Lala’s feud with Scheana, 41, had “something to do with their kids’ schooling.”
The Valley season three airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
