Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel are reportedly in the midst of a bitter custody battle over their two children, four-year-old Kensington and two-year-old Saint Julien.
According to a new report, the Southern Charm exes attended a mediation hearing last week after Kathryn filed documents to increase her time with their children and during the hearing, things got heated after weeks of what were described as “friendly negotiations.”
“Kathryn wants almost full custody of her little ones,” the insider revealed to Radar Online. “She wants a 75/25 split.”
At the moment, Kathryn and Thomas are sharing 50/50 custody of their kids but Kathryn hopes to get that changed in her favor.
As Southern Charm fans will recall, Kathryn lost custody of Kensington and Saint Julien years ago after failing a court-ordered drug test. However, after going to rehab and turning over a new leaf, Kathryn has been doing great and her time with her kids has been steadily increasing as she continues to pass drug tests for the court.
Immediately after Thomas began facing allegations of sexual assaults earlier this year, he and Kathryn appeared to put on a united front. They even enjoyed a dance party with Kensington on Instagram earlier this month. That said, Kathryn is now refusing to go easy on her ex-boyfriend as their custody battle presses on.
“Kathryn is going hard at Thomas to give her more time with the kids — she’s not going to take no for an answer,” a show insider said.
News of Kathryn’s custody demands comes just a short time after Thomas’ girlfriend, Ashley Jacobs, was seen lashing out against her during a cast dinner on Southern Charm as her co-stars sat in shock.
During the episode, Ashley said she spent more time with Kathryn’s kids than Kathryn and suggested she was a neglectful parent. Surprisingly, Kathryn took the verbal attack in stride and kept her cool as she was berated by the girlfriend of her children’s father.
“I like blacked the f**k out, disassociated, and was in like, shock, panic,” Kathryn explained. “Old Kathryn would have flipped the f**k out and gone ape-sh*t on her…but everyone saw that she was just trying to entertain. She was on display, she was enjoying it. And when I saw that, I was like hm, you don’t deserve a response.”
