RHOBH Star Lisa Vanderpump Halts Filming on Vanderpump Rules After the Sudden Death of Her Mother

Lisa Vanderpump has temporarily quit filming the eighth season of Vanderpump Rules.

Just over a year after the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star tragically lost her brother, Mark Vanderpump, to suicide, Lisa has been faced with the loss of her mother, 84-year-old Jean Vanderpump.  She passed away suddenly in England on Monday.

“This has hit Lisa very hard and she is shocked by her mother’s sudden death,” a source told the Daily Mail on June 20.

While Jean wasn’t seen in the spotlight, she and Lisa were said to be very close.

“Lisa has not had an easy past 14 months. In April of 2018 her brother Mark committed suicide rocking her family to its core,” the insider continued. “She then had to deal with a tumultuous season on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills which ultimately led to her stopping filming and eventually quitting the show as she was tired of being bullied by the other cast members.”

“One thing is for sure with Lisa though, she’s as strong as they come and once she has worked through her grief she will be back running her restaurant empire, focusing on her philanthropic endeavors and filming Vanderpump Rules,” the source added.

In the coming weeks, as filming continues on Vanderpump Rules season eight, Lisa will be leaving her home in Beverly Hills and flying to London to arrange her mother’s funeral.

Earlier this month, after a difficult ninth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Vanderpump told DailyMailTV she would not be returning to the series for season 10.

“I think they’ve made it pretty impossible for me to go back frankly,” she explained. “This season in Housewives it just became too much for me, where I was in my life at the time, personal things I was dealing with I did not cope so well.”

“Unfortunately when I was filming last year I was not in a good place myself mentally,” she added.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season nine airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
