The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Dorit Kemsley and her husband Paul “P.K.” Kemsley, who were affected by a reported string of “open house” robberies, can now rest easy following the stunning arrest of a Beverly Hills realtor.
What do RHOBH couple Dorit and P.K. have in common with musicians Adam Lambert, Jason Derulo, and Usher? Well, maybe a few things, but the five celebs have all allegedly fallen victim to home robberies that are being referred to as the “open house” burglaries.
Beverly Hills Realtor Jason Emil Yaselli and his alleged partner-in-crime Benjamin Eitan Ackerman are being accused of getting access to wealthy people’s homes only to come back and steal from them later.
If you recall, the first suspect, Benjamin, was arrested earlier this year back in January. However, it wasn’t until this week that Benjamin’s suspected partner, realtor Jason, was also arrested.
According to TMZ, prosecutors are accusing the two men of committing various crimes between the dates of December 2016 and August 2018. The alleged crimes include identity theft, first-degree residential burglary, and money laundering. Additionally, they are also accused of stealing over $500,000 through fraud and embezzlement.
Some of the crimes were said to have been committed at open houses during which Jason would allegedly encourage his accomplice to steal luxury items, sell them, and use the proceeds to pay off his credit card bills.
The two men remain in jail as their bails have been set at over a million dollars each. And if found guilty, Jason and Benjamin will face up to 31 years in prison.
Lawyers for Benjamin are however maintaining their client is innocent and calling this a “publicity driven prosecution.”
Since the burglaries, Dorit and P.K. have moved out of their $8.75 million Beverly Hills home and now reside in a lavish new $6.5 million home in Encino. The couple is also still dealing with a number of financial issues, including having their bank account frozen.
Sadly, Dorit isn’t the only Beverly Hills housewife to undergo a traumatic burglary. Kyle Richards and her husband Mauricio Umansky were robbed while they were on a family vacation back in 2018. The couple, who had then just recently moved into their new home, reportedly lost $1 million in items, including handbags, jewelry, and family heirlooms.
