The Real Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps thanked fans for supporting her over a year-long probation period in a heartfelt Instagram post on Wednesday. But does she plan on staying sober? The reality star also dishes on her feelings about costar Bethenny Frankel leaving the show.
Bravo fans everywhere are raising a mocktail for Luann after learning she has completed her year-long probation period following her December 2017 arrest. And since viewers watched as Luann struggled with her sobriety on and off the show, the Bravo star took to Instagram to thank her fans for their unwavering support.
In the post, Luann took a photo of a hand-written letter that read, “Hi my friends, I’m happy to say after a long difficult year….I’ve made it through! I’m humbled and grateful for this life lesson and ready to put the past behind me and move on with my life. Wish me luck! Thank you for your undying support over the years! Love always, Luann”
Friends and costars of the cabaret singer were quick to comment on the post.
“So proud ????????????????” RHONY costar Ramona Singer wrote in the comments.
Even fellow Bravo star Gretchen Rossi of Real Housewives of Orange County took time to comment on the heartfelt post. “Ahh congrats love! Proud of you! Not easy doing this in the public eye. ❤️” the reality star wrote.
While Luann’s court-ordered sobriety stint may be over, one big question remains: will the Bravo star continue to live a sober lifestyle?
“I like to say I take it one day at a time because that’s, um, you know, that’s where I’m at,” the “Feeling Jovani” singer admitted in an interview with TMZ on Wednesday. “We never know where we’re gonna be and I, you know, I have enjoyed actually being sober, I’ve gotten to a different place in my life and for the moment, I’m not drinking.”
The Bravo star admitted that she struggles with staying sober “like the rest of the world does,” but she has learned a lot from the experience.
“I think I paid very dearly for something that I think could have happened to anyone,” the New York housewife continued. “I was not in the right state of mind and I should’ve been put to bed and um, it was an unfortunate turn of events that um, I’ve had to grapple with.”
But even as the Bravo star took a moment to revisit the dark time in her past, she remains positive and wants to move forward with her life. She’s very excited to be on her national cabaret tour and wants to stay focused on that for the time being.
In the same interview, Luann was asked what she thought about her costar Bethenny’s announcement that she’d no longer be filming with the New York housewives.
While Luann expressed that it’s “always sad to lose a cast member,” she also admitted that she and Bethenny haven’t always had the best of times on the show. “Bethenny and I have had many good times as well as not-so-good times, you know, we’ve had our ups and downs,” she dished.
“I’m the kind of person that chooses to remember the ups and not the downs, uh, it’s just the way I roll,” added the cabaret star.
And while Luann wishes Bethenny well amid her RHONY exit, she joked, “[Bethenny’s] left the show before and she came back so we’ll see what happens!”
