Kelly Dodd is finally reacting to the shocking defamation lawsuit filed against her by her Real Housewives of Orange County co-star Vicki Gunvalson.
On November 1, news broke that Vicki had filed a lawsuit under the name “Jane Roe” against Kelly, NBCUniversal (Bravo’s parent company), Bravo TV, and MGM, which owns Evolution Media (the company that produces RHOC). In the suit, Vicki claimed Kelly defamed her by calling her a “con woman” who preys on old people and engages in “fraud.” Kelly appeared to be referencing allegations made in a lawsuit filed against Vicki.
Vicki wanted a judge to issue a restraining order against Bravo to prevent them from airing Kelly’s comments on a future episode, stating that it would be detrimental to her business if the comments were allowed to air. However, a judge denied Vicki’s request for the restraining order and her attorney announced that she planned to drop Bravo, NBCUniversal, and MGM from the lawsuit, leaving Kelly as the sole defendant.
On Saturday night, Kelly, who has been visiting New York with her new boyfriend, reporter Rick Leventhal, finally reacted to the legal move by Vicki in a message to a fan.
“How is Vicki suing you for defamation when she’s the one that slandered you saying you did coke?!” the fan wondered on Instagram.
“I know,” Kelly simply responded on November 2, perhaps not wanting to go into details due to legal advice.
Later, Kelly addressed possibly leaving the RHOC to join the cast of the Real Housewives of New York City.
“You have to move to NY and join RHONY, you will be more appreciated,” a fan wrote to Kelly.
“That would be a dream,” Kelly, who is good friends with Ramona Singer, answered.

Shortly after Vicki’s lawsuit made headlines, Radar Online reported that she would likely be banned from attending the RHOC reunion, scheduled to film on November 8, due to her legal action.
“Vicki will not be allowed at the reunion if she continues her suit against Kelly,” a source alleged.
As for Vicki, she has remained mum on the topic, simply updating her social media with photos from her visit to North Carolina to see daughter, Briana Culberson and her family.
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.
